"Hey, you've often teased me for exaggerating! I had to be sure that you didn't think I was exaggerating again!" He smirked a little and nodded his head, then paused when Leah mentioned George. He was still frustrated with the way his sister had handled things after he'd gotten injured. He felt, maybe, she could have been glad that he was alive, but... he dispelled that thought with a shake of his head and smiled again.
He nodded. "Another wall of protection between us and them." He nodded his head. "I think I could be on board with that." It was a little bit surprising that Brandon had found himself another hobby. He wasn't exactly known for being a great mind, but then again, he wasn't stupid either, so Evan was pleased as much as he was impressed.
There was still a hint of insecurity in his features, but he smiled at her reassurance. "A little odd, that you're reassuring me instead of the other way around for once, right?" he chuckled a little bit, then brushed his fingers through her hair. "But thank you. Really. I mean... I'm still nervous, but I think that'll still be in place until I'm proven wrong. A lot of it is baseless, but..." he shrugged. A lot of it was wondering if he could stay strong when it counted. "I can't help it, I guess."
"I think you're right, cher," he nodded his agreement, but laughed nonetheless. "Don't worry. I'm not going to overwork myself, okay?" he promised her with a hand bringing hers to his lips to kiss it, then agreeing to the pinky swear. "We pinky swore without batting an eyelash. Too much time around a five year old?" he joked, though she knew that he thought there was no such thing, he was sure.
He laughed. "Hey. Don't insult my girlfriend's looks." He poked her in the nose and grinned wryly. "Mama-to-be or not, she's pretty freaking hot, so... I don't know if you're jealous or what it is, but you need to just learn to deal with it, hm?" he wagged his eyebrows and smoothed his hand down her arm, releasing her fingertips and grasping for the non-toxic paint they'd found.
"Naturally," he nodded his agreement. "I traced the one where he was carving the roast beast. That good?" he held up the stencil and smiled.
