Lydia really didn't know why she was still here. She should have just left to go to the college in Maine that her dad and Delia wanted her to go to in the first place, back when she had the chance. What was the point in staying here anyways? She didn't have any friends, which the goth partly blamed on her massive anti-social issues. The extent of her social scene was showing up whenever there was a big party on campus, but even then she hung out in the background.

Sighing, she walked down the stairs and outside of the dorm building and sat down on the cold brick wall, the chilly wind whipping around her as she pulled her jacket closer to her body. "What should I do?" she asked out loud (but not too loud) to nobody but the wind.

It was that time of year again. The fall semester of 2009 at Ravenhurst University was in full swing, and that called for a party. Of course, it wasn't going to be the type that would be getting fully out of hand, but a party none the less that was open for all the students, faculty, and people in town.

Everything was in place - a local deejay was on hand to supply the music, and plenty of food and soft drinks to go around. Now all people had to do was just show up, and have a good time.

The same routine can only keep one person going for so long before growing tired of it. The same held true for Lydia. It wasn't that she grew weary of her classes, but doing the same things without any friends around was getting boring for her.

It was then that she decided to go out and explore the town. Her classes didn't start for another couple of hours, giving Lydia plenty of time to take some hopefully well planned photographs - and a couple of candid ones, too. And so she packed up her camera and left her dorm, making her way through the quad as she donned her wide-brimmed black hat, stopping here and there to snap a picture - birds in a tree, an empty lawn, and a half-full bottle of Pepsi sitting by the fountain.

Taking a moment or two, she flipped through the pictures on her camera and approved of them before meandering into town.

Magenta put out the last of the food and had a table out of several drinks. She'd been reading up on American customs, but parties were a staple anywhere. She put up party lights and closed the skeleton clock that she's gotten Riff for Christmas.

"Ready Riff," she called out.
