Who: Lissa in Alice Cullen's body and OPEN to anyone in the wilderness or works as a narrative
What: Testing out her abilities
When: Today/Tonight
Where: The woods
Warnings: Not really unless killing a deer is too much for you.
Rather than going back to the prison, Lissa decided that it would be better for everyone if she continued to stay with the Cullens. Not only was she trying to get used to the new blood urges and abilities she'd inherited from Alice's body, she thought it would give some comfort to Alice's family to stay here so they could keep an eye on her form. They were very kind and helpful during the first couple of days and helped her adjust as much as they could. She was nervous about feeding, but the hunt came more naturally than she would have thought. Biting into fur was strange, but the blood was warm and filling. She seemed to remember human blood being more tasteful, but this body didn't mind the animal blood at all.
The speed and strength she had now was something else to get used to. Alice's body seemed to try and help counter Lissa's inexperience with it a little, but she still was trying to take her time moving and doing small tasks around the home. It wasn't the first time she's been to the Cullen home; she remembered the basic layout from the party all of the vampires had been invited to by their family.
If she was completely honest, Lissa felt more free in Alice's body without the spirit weighing her down. Her own gift hadn't been spiking lately, but it was always there and now without someone to absorb the effects. She and Rose had not been bonded for over a year now and even though it made dealing with the spirit harder, it was best for Rose that she managed it on her own. This was her gift and Lissa never wanted Rose to reap the dark effects of it. Alice's visions were strange and hard to get used to, but after the first day or two she wasn't involuntarily looking into the future. Jasper, Rosalie, and Esme all guided her through it all as best they knew how and she appreciated it more than they knew.
The sun hadn't quite gone down yet, but Lissa didn't mind. She didn't need to worry about the sun baring down on her and tiring her out in this body. She discovered the way her skin shined in the sun and it made her smile. But instead of basking in the sun, she found herself zipping through the trees of the wilderness and letting the wind hit her face. The dhampirs couldn't even run this fast and she didn't think about if Strigoi could. The animal blood kept her eyes from turning red and that was another reason Lissa didn't mind the change in diet.
She stopped suddenly and listened to the noises around her. Trees rustled and she heard winter birds singing above her on the branches. A crack of a twig caught her attention and her senses were on high alert. A deer was walking cautiously through the woods and she soundlessly moved closer towards the animal, a little amazed at how natural the hunt came to her now. Her first couple of kills had been rough and messy, but Lissa was a quick study and managed to tackle the deer to the ground with only a minor struggle this time. Her teeth immediately ripped into the deer's flesh and she drank until she had her fill. Rising up, Lissa smiled to herself. If only her people could see their young Queen now.
