Who: Santana Lopez & Quinn Fabray
What: Going to bring Quinn to the prison
When: Just after the net post
Where: Greystone Road and then the prison
Warnings: None
Santana had been sitting in that infirmary with Finn and Rachel nonstop since she found out about Kurt. She was scared and worried, not that she was going to readily admit that, it wasn't her style. But, as much as she pretended not to care about any of them, she did. She cared about all three of them and the thought that Kurt might not wake up freaked her out. She'd lost so many people and she just couldn't stand the thought of losing Kurt too. Before Finn and Rachel had shown up, it had just been her and Kurt and Santana had gotten pretty close to him. It was something she'd never expected, but having Kurt and even Rachel and Finn there, it felt like family almost. More than it had in glee club, because now, she had no family left. Her mami, she'd not even made it out of Lima and her papi, well, that was still a really hard thing for her. He'd taught her so much about medicine and she knew she could probably do some good here, using everything he taught her, but losing him had hurt so much she'd just abandoned it. It reminded her too much of their travels and all the people they'd helped together. Of how they would never do that again. But, she'd talked to Max, the one who'd tried to heal Kurt and even with her medical knowledge, if a healer couldn't fix him, she couldn't either. So all she could do was wait and hope he would wake up, because she wasn't ready to face what it would mean if he didn't.
The three of them had held a vigil of sorts, singing to him softly, holding his hand, talking to each other and trying to support one another. Santana was sure somewhere Mr. Schue was proud they were doing this and it made her smile to herself at the thought. She'd sat by herself for awhile, watching Rachel and Finn. Did they know how lucky they were, having each other in this new world? There was no way to know if Brittany had made it, but odds were, given that special place she lived in inside her own mind, she probably didn't. Santana still held onto the hope that she was out there somewhere, but that part of her she'd shut down, it had closed off when she'd lost her dad. It had made her more bitter and angry than she'd ever been and she'd taken it out on Finn and Rachel both. Sure, she'd always insulted them, it was her thing, but this had been worse. She'd felt angry when they'd shown up, cheated even, that she didn't have anyone the way they had each other. Even with her closeness with Kurt in their absence, she was still somewhat of an outsider in this group so to speak. Kurt and Finn were family and Rachel was part of that unit.
Then Santana saw something on the net that she swore proved someone up there listened to prayers or like, read minds or whatever. Quinn Fabray was here. Santana might have felt actual excitement over that one. She and the blonde had a complicated history at best, but they'd always been close, always had each other's back and now she was here. It hadn't taken long for Santana to agree to actually leave the prison gates, despite telling Cora she never would, and go to meet Quinn and bring her back.
It had taken some sweet talking to get signed out without a buddy, but she'd managed to convince the totally obvious lesbian she could take care of herself. Of course, the girl, Kennedy, had made Santana at least take a weapon with her. Now she was making her way to Greystone Road with a pistol and her Cheerios jacket since Quinn said she was cold. Maybe Quinn getting here was a good sign, now if only Kurt would wake up.
