Who: Owen and Cecilia (and Neptune)
When: 8:45am-ish
Where: Owen's room
Cecilia loved the wintertime. She loved snow. It felt a little wrong to love it in this place, knowing all the struggles and dangers it represented, but seeing it still brought life to some childish and happy part of her heart. She'd always loved the snow, but in recent years she had found another, more unexpected appreciation of it. When it was snowing hard outside, she could stand to sleep without her window covered. She still had to sleep facing the window, of course, but she could let her mind rest a little more at ease. She found that snowy nights just weren't as dark. Every little light reflected off every covered surface, and with all the lights in her room off, she could manage to see out the window from her bed and be comfortable in the knowledge that no one would be able to see in. It meant sleeping with her contacts in, but she did that half the time, anyway.
She'd stayed in bed that morning perhaps just a few minutes longer than usual, watching the snow fall and snuggling with Neptune. There was so much to do still, so she didn't stay long. Eventually she got up and went about her morning routine, establishing that the sky had not fallen in the course of the night. Letting Neptune outside had been a bit tricky, but he loved the snow just as much as she did, so she managed to let him out the side door without making a mess. When he came in she went downstairs and went for a swim, then back to her room for a shower.
Her mind had started to fix on Owen, as it was wont to do in idle moments. She felt a little bad. Like they'd finally decided to give this thing a go, and then she'd immediately become preoccupied with other pressing matters. He was never far from her mind, though. She'd kept to herself a little more than usual simply because her head had been dark after August cut himself, and she'd needed to work through some of her fears. She still had those fears, but she'd accepted the burden of them. She could live with them. She had exactly no other choice. So, she decided she was going to take time to do what she wanted and be with Owen. She owed him for all he'd done for her, whether or not he agreed with that. And she wanted to turn the tables a bit and take care of him for a change. After getting out of the shower and dressing, she'd thrown her damp hair into a loose knot and headed into the kitchen. Not too terribly long later, she was knocking on Owen's door holding a tray of pancakes, juice, and coffee.
