Yalúmessë

I recently started an OC high fantasy game (*cough* watchersplease *cough* /shamelessplug) and really wanted an elven character, but it bugged me that I couldn't find a PB with appropriate icons that actually FIT the character in my head. So I thought to myself, 'well, crap. I wonder how hard it is to photoshop elf ears.' Turns out? Not very. Are they the very best elf ears anyone has ever seen? No. No, they are not. But gosh darnit, they're good enough. So I thought I'd share.

Okay, so. The lovely Claire (seethesoldiers) and I were talking today about our own personal Dos and Don'ts when it comes to our icons. She recently aquired Photoshop and asked how I went about iconning, as she's always used PSP and isn't sure if she could make the switch. Aaand the more we got to talking, the more I decided to make a tutorial. I do NOT think I have the greatest icons out there. Seriously. Claire's are some of my absolute favorites, and there are dozens of artists out there better than me. I just strive to make something simple and clear, something I'd be at least willing to use myself. So that said, let's get to it.
