Begging Remus' forgiveness

When: about a week after the incident, night
Where: dorm and undisclosed location
Status: Complete
It had only been a week. Seven days. By anyone else's standards, not a great deal of time. To Sirius Black, they seemed to be agonizingly infinite.
Seven days since the unfortunate incident at the Whomping Willow. Seven days since he'd made the biggest and most thoughtless mistake of his life (and he'd made a few before). More importantly, seven days since Remus had spoken a word to him. That was the painful part of the whole process. Not one word. Nothing. Not a glance, not since the last one, when he had approached him the morning after, as he lay recuperating in the Infirmary.
James had warned him not to go in, said it wasn't a good idea. But Sirius being Sirius, he followed his own instincts, which was what had gotten him into trouble in the first place, and he went in. To be met with a hurt glance, and then a back when he attempted to talk to Remus. And a muffled "Go away." He'd left, there was nothing else to do, but he'd cried his eyes out in the privacy of his bed.
Seven days. He missed Remus, missed his friend badly. If you'd ask him just what Remus meant to Sirius, he'd be hard put to put his feelings into words. He felt them, but had never diagrammed them, or examined them to any extent. When Remus spoke, Sirius listened. When there was something to be done, or enjoyed, Sirius wanted Remus to be there to do it or enjoy it. If he was playing quidditch, he wanted Remus' admiration. They practically lived in one another's pockets, even more than he and James did, especially since James had discovered the opposite sex. Sirius saw girls, and they certainly saw him, but he didn't see them in the same way that they saw him. He supposed some day he'd marry one, whomever he was told to wed, not like he'd have any sayso about that, any more than he had a choice in anything that had happened to him up to this point. But he frankly didn't care. One girl was as good as another. He didn't like most of them.
Except for Narcissa, his cousin. She was his friend, the only girl he could talk to. But he didn't think he could talk about this with her, because this involved a secret that he was sworn not to tell to anyone. And what had he done, but gone and let Severus discover it? Damn, damn, damn, damn, damn.
He had to do something, or go crazy. He went to the kitchen, and had the house elves - who all adored him and were very eager to please - make him up some chocolate candies. He had these taken up to their dorm - He was sure Remus was in their room - along with a note, offering the chocolates and begging him to come to the quidditch field. He was afraid to do it in person, afraid of the rejection. He stated in the note that he would wait all night if that's what it took, and he meant it.
He made his way with a swiftly beating heart to the field, and to his usual place in the quidditch stands - when he wasn't playing that is - at the top of the Gryffindor stand. And then he waited.
