Like I'd have done something that nice. I don't think so.

[OOC: Heroes spoilers in comments.]

Stupid and optimistic don't go hand in hand.

Even if being optimistic is stupid. What is there to be optimistic about?

For me, today?

Meeting people here that aren't terrible.

And being able to walk is one I can always appreciate.

Ah right, I'd forgotten you were paralyzed for awhile. I'd have to say then that you do have something to be optimistic about.

I just feel that I should warn you, I'm not a good man. You'd be better off keeping your distance from me, although I wouldn't hurt you. Probably.

What makes you think that you aren't a good man?

I've killed a lot of people, Heidi. Doesn't exactly make for being a good man.

That all depends on if you're planning to stop.

Honestly? I don't know. I never plan to kill to begin with. At least not always.

Let's just say it's like a 12 step program, and I'm taking it one day at a time.

Then I think you at least have the potential to be a good man.

I think you're probably the only person that thinks so.

I guess it's that optimism that has you thinking that, right?

I'd say that a woman's intuition had to do with it too, but I don't much believe in that sort of thing.

I'm not ruling it out. With all the powers I've seen, it could very well be possible.

But I still think you have too much faith in me.

Do you know who I am, Heidi?

From the way you and the other Sylar were speaking, I'd assume you were another version of him.

You aren't married to me too, are you?

Maybe other people just have too little faith in you.

So you do know of me.

Ha, I could only be so lucky. No, I'm not married to you.

How in the world is it that you're still talking to me, let alone not running in terror?

I've seen that TV show of all of us...and I can say at least from my end that it doesn't show every side of a story.

You've already said you wouldn't hurt me, and I believe you.

And besides, I know what Angela Petrelli can do to a person.

You're right. They don't show every side.

I wouldn't. Especially not now.

That woman is a nuisance to humanity. She should be thrown off a bridge. She actually had the gall to try and convince me that she and Arthur were my parents. She used me.

So if you aren't going to hurt me I don't think I have anything to fear.

That was a terrible thing that she did. Angela ... I think she protects her own. I don't know if I would go to the same lengths. In fact ... I know I wouldn't.

I suppose that's why I always felt she thought I wasn't good enough for her son. Ah, well.

Do you know who your parents really were? I could ... help you look, if you'd like. I can't imagine not knowing that.

Oh, you've got lots to fear, Heidi. You just don't know it yet.

You're more than good enough for her son. Nathan never deserved you. Not ever.

I...I know who my father is. I've got a lead on where he is, but haven't found him yet. I don't even know if he's here in this world or not. But thanks for the offer. I might just take you up on it.

I suppose we'll have to see about that.

Nathan and I ... we've made a sort of awkward peace here, and I'm glad for that. If the boys show up I'm sure they'll be happy we're being at least civil.

If it means anything, I hope you find him.

Care to see what you've got to fear over an ice cream cone, Heidi?

That's something at least. I take it you don't mean the kindly Senator who's rounding up people like cattle and shipping them off to God knows where? I've heard there are two or three Nathans around, not including the one who's really me.

Surprisingly, it does. You're one of the first people to be kind to me without an ulterior motive. Thank you.

Ulterior motives seem to blow up in people's faces.

I'll take a truce with whichever Nathan I can get, honestly. The one who's really you seems quite sweet for what it's worth.

Seeing what I fear over an ice cream cone - clever. I might have to take you up on that.

You've got that right, especially where I'm concerned.

Can I give you a little friendly advice? The one who's really me? Don't trust him as far as you can throw him. That same advice goes for me, I think it's only fair to warn you, but I think pretending to be someone else for so long fucked him up. He's off his rocker, Heidi.

I can make it worth your while if you do. Double scoop in a waffle cone, my treat. What do you say?

He didn't seem too bad when we went for coffee. He at least seemed happy to see me, but then again -- if he'd been married to me for five years in his world that's pretty understandable.

I certainly wouldn't say no. Are you in New York?

You can call me Gabriel, if you like. You're the only one who I'd let.

Not at the moment, but I can be there in an instant. You've been told about these Godboxes right? Really ingenious little devices. What do you say to meeting me for a cone at the Carvel shop on 2nd on Monday, around five in the evening? I've got a little something I've got to take care of this weekend.

Why do I have a feeling that sounds more ominous than it is?

Please don't do anything you're going to regret, Gabriel.

No, it's nothing so bad as that. Nothing ominous at all. Juat a little business to take care of. I promise.

So is it a date?
