When there's no getting through
Who: Rosalind and Killian
When: Tuesday afternoon
Where: On the way to Marrowood and in Marrowood
What: Traveling to get the Bootlegger's sign
Status/Warning: In-progress/None at the moment
A wise man once told her that it wasn't good to stay cooped up in the lab for long periods of time, and she intended to listen to that advice and get out for some air. Rosalind's attempts at persuading her brother to come along for a walk were futile - he wanted to get their lab set up sooner rather than later, and while she understood that she also knew she had to break herself of her old habits.
And so she left the lab with a bow and quiver in tow with every intent to stop by the park after her excursion into Marrowood to get a little practice in. Her archery sessions with Clint were paying off, she thought, and while she was no expert she was much better than when she began. The arrow actually made it to the target tree now. It might not have been on target, but it did make it. That was an accomplishment in her eyes.
But that was not the focus of her afternoon romp with Killian. They were to travel to Marrowood, retrieve the Bootlegger's sign, and return to Grimoire. Nothing more, and nothing less. Hawke's tale of increased violence from the denizens of the small town were enough of a warning for the scientist to not go alone, and she was glad when Killian agreed to join her. The last thing she wanted was to end up dead (again), or injured in any way.
Rosalind stood waiting for Killian at the head of the trail, eyes peering down the road that was lined with woods on either side. She thought she heard rustling in the distance and saw the trees move, but she brushed it off to her imagination. It was the middle of the day, and she doubted that the creatures of the forest would be so brazen as to attack them when sunlight still touched the land.
