Who: George Weasley, Roger Davies
When: Wednesday, after Roger complains.
Where: Roger's place.
What: Nursing the injured. Via booze.
Rating: TBA
Open/Closed: Closed

George was as good as his word. He picked up an assortment from the Thai place he and Fred liked best, and a bottle of firewhiskey and then showed up at Roger's door.

"Oi, Davies, open up!" George yelled, kicking at the door with one foot, since his hands were presently full. Roger being hurt was really just a convenient excuse to flee the shop and not think about the Potterwatch shite he'd been working on with Lee for weeks, or the new shop, or what Percy was doing or where Ron was or any of the other crap he'd had to juggle lately. Plus making Davies cranky was always fun. Although it probably would be a bit too easy with him nursing a broken arm. (And possibly a broken head, though George was guessing on that one.)

"Hurry up, or I'm leaving and taking the food!" he added, balancing the large bag precariously in one arm.

He laughed a little, watching George's antics, before snatching the container that George had been previously working his way through.

"Just as long as you leave me enough to soak up this alcohol with," he said with a smirk, gesturing to the firewhiskey that they had been steadily working their way through.

He raised his eyebrows in surprise, before asking, "Professor Lupin? Remus Lupin?" That...actually made a lot of sense, when you took into account how close he had seemed to Harry Potter during the year that he had taught at the school. "Should I owl him? Or wait to hear from him?"

"Go ahead and owl him. That way if I get busy being more brilliant than you and forget to tell him, he'll still find out," George decided.

He made a scoffing sound. "Real men drink with no food." And were sick the next day. And then had to buy Weasley hangover cure products. George firmly believed in sales as a life calling.

"Yeah. He was in the first war too, along with Harry's dad and mum, and our parents, and loads of other people. Including Sirius Black - who was a good guy, not a murderer and all of that. 'salong story." George shrugged. "But Lupin's a good sort. Tonks is in, she's teaching at Hogwarts now. Ang and Katie and Alicia and Wood."

"Do you mind if I take a few days before I owl him? Just to get my head around this?" It wasn't as if George had to worry about Roger going off and telling everyone about who was in the Order in the meantime. Hearing the list of names that George started to sprout off, he wasn't at all surprised to realize that mostly Gryffindors made up the group and he certainly wouldn't want to put Angelina in danger. He had a soft spot for her.

But he would have understood if there were any concerns about Roger taking time off to wrap his mind around it.

He only shook his head, grinning a little at George's real men comment. Roger was plenty man enough for countless women out there and he didn't think how he took his alcohol had anything to do with it.

"Yeah, sure. Just don't take too long. Someone might end up offing us all, and then how will you feel?" George asked with a smirk that was a little darker than normal. That wasn't quite as big a joke as he wished it was after all.

He reached for another carton and dug in, nudging Roger's leg with his foot. "So. How'd you fly into the goal post anyway? Didn't you learn how to steer while you were at school?"

Roger's almost jovial mood dissipated immediately at George's joke. "Don't joke about that," he said, sounding serious. "Not about that." The sinking feeling that not everyone was going to make it out of this alive was there, but the mere mention of it upset Roger more than he thought it would have. Then again, these people were the people he had spent most of his adult life knowing. It wasn't a stretch to be upset at the thought of harm coming to them.

Using his legs to trap the one that George had been nudging him with, he sat like that for awhile as he attempted to interject a little more cheer in his voice than he was feeling. "I don't know which gossip rag started that rumour, but you're not the first to assume I flew into a goal post," he explained with a snort. "I got hit by a stray Bludger, actually."

George reached to ruffle Roger's hair. "Relax, Davies. Better to joke about it than worry about it." It was Fred and George's usual philosophy. Sure, things made them serious now and then. George had already almost died once after all, and Hagrid and Moody and others hadn't been as lucky as him. But George thought that if you couldn't laugh at something, that just made it worse.

He grunted as Roger trapped his legs and made a face at him. "I could poke your bad arm until you pass out and drink all your booze you know." He looked amused. "Aren't you supposed to know how to avoid those Bludger things? Part of your job and such?"

"Yeah, well," Roger said, shrugging a little helplessly and batting George's hand away. He was awfully tactile, wasn't he? But Roger didn't mind and the thought didn't cross his mind much after that. Instead, his sore mood disappeared just as quickly as it had came and he cocked an eyebrow at the other wizard. "Oh, you could try." Just because he only had the full use of only one arm, it didn't mean that he was completely helpless.

His fingers were already inching toward a couch pillow, getting ready to smack George should he attempt to poke him. "I can avoid them just fine, when we're actually playing. But we were working on formations, when the damn thing got loose and smacked into me."

George was always tactile, but once he had a few drinks in him, he was likely to pet anyone within reach. Or anything. Pygmy Puffs were good for that when there wasn't anyone pettable around.

"You're all drunk and unshaven and head-thumped. I could poke you and be across the room before you did anything but say ouch'!" George told him, smirking.

"You. . . go smacked by a bludger that wasn't even aimed at you? You were just in the path?" George snorted with laughter. "That has even less dignity, mate."

"Yeah? Well, you're just as drunk as I am and I normally have a wicked good aim," Roger said, lifting the pillow. Yes, he would defend himself with a pillow if he had to. He would Not Be Poked. "Want to find out if your drunken dodging is better than my drunken throwing?"

He tightened his grip on the pillow, while a scowl stretched across his face. "Shut it! I didn't think i had to pay attention to any of the Bludgers!"

"Your aim's not that good," George scoffed. He eyed the pillow Roger was picking up. "Are you after a pillow fight, Davies? You're not going to change into a teddy for it, are you?" Roger wasn't the sort of bloke who could wear lingerie well, George didn't think.

George could have probably read the warning signs of the pillow threat becoming solid, but he was too busy laughing. "Right. not your fault! I mean who would think that a bludger might be flying around a Quidditch pitch? It's crazy talk!

"Right then," Roger sighed, making a show of deflating before he took the pillow and walloped George with it. "Arse," he said with a slightly smug tone as he quickly inched away from George in case he decided to retaliate.

And if that happened, he would point out that he was a cripple and that hitting disabled people wasn't a very nice thing to do. Even if they were asking for it.

"I am not pillow fighting with you unless you do it properly and go put on a nightie," George told Roger. But he was laughing, and it only took him a second to try to grab and take the pillow away.

Though he was nice enough to try not to jostle the cripple. It wasn't going to save him a pillow thumping though!

"Why are you so eager to see me in a nightie? Something you need to share with the rest of us, Mr. Weasley?" Roger questioned, reaching for the bottle of firewhiskey that had been temporarily forgotten.

He took a swig of it, in hopes that George decided to spare him a thumping out of fear that he may spill the firewhiskey, if not it was wrong to a cripple.
