He really shouldn't be nervous anymore, should he? Marcus Flint doesn't do nervous. Girls get nervous about him and it's never the other way around. He's never worried about being pleasing enough because, Merlin, he's got a smile that makes casual sex so very easy, makes his life easy.
And look where that got him. Delaney Twilfitt pregnant with his child.
It's no wonder that he's searching for something different. Searching for something so that when Jovian is old enough to ask if his father loves his wife he can answer truthfully with a yes, rather than the grunts given to him by his father.
But the search is awkward. It has him in unfamiliar territory and looking more and more like... like Oliver fucking Wood rather than famed, brutal, handsome, Marcus Flint. But this doesn't stop him from pursuing Susan further. There is the general reasons: she's too pretty, insanely pretty. She's got eyes that make his heart race and he does wonder on occasion what she'd look like with her head tilted back, lips uttering his name in a half moan. But then there is more than that cropping up. He can't get enough of how kind she is, how understanding. She's patient and she's got a love for gardens that he shares and he can't help but think she'd be grand with Jovian, but he refuses to linger on that last thought very long.
It's these thoughts so heavy in his mind that has him nervous as he steps into her little shop to meet her. He's in a crisp black shirt and tie, something fit for a more upscale muggle eatery than a wizarding one, and his wand is tucked in a strap around his calf. He pauses in the middle of the shop and tilts his head, not sure if he wants to call for her just yet. Instead he slowly begins to look about the shelves.
