Julien had no idea why Alfie had bought something for HIM when it was the other boy's birthday, but he really didn't have the kind of chracter that would argue the point. Plus he didn't want to upset the Hufflepuff, see above re: birthday.

He lingered around outside the library for Alfie, nervous and thinking about the presents he'd given; was the encouragement charm working okay? Maybe he shouldn't have given Alfie a prototype charm... what if it just got worse and worse until it turned into some kind of bully... what if it WAS too loud and too aggressive and too corny and not subtle and helpful the way he'd wanted it to be... what if...

He decided to cut off the what if's and returned to shifting his weight anxiously from foot to foot and waiting for his friend to show up.

	Alfie's eyes went a little wide and he reached for Julien's shoulder. "Hey, I didn't mean. I mean..." He let go of him after a second and shrugged, "Just meant you should go out there with me. 	Julien wasn't expecting the friendly touch and even after Alfie had moved his hand the other boy still felt the warmth lingering in that place after the heat of Alfie's hand against him. 	Julien reached out... and petted the kitten between the ears, wincing as it chewed his finger a little bit. "I'd like that." he smiled back. Sure he wanted more charms, but it was just as nice spending time with Alfie as it was spending time locked in his own head. (Reply to this) (Parent)
