Who: Alfie & Julien
What: Julien comes home from work
Where: Home
When: 11:53 pm Friday night
Rating/Warning: TBA

Julien genuinely loved his job. He really did. He was good at deconstructing and reconstructing spells and charms and his particular way of looking at things meant that he could find solutions to problems that no one had even seen before, nevermind attempted to solve. His boss liked him and his department was one of the more solitary ones so he could lose himself in his work for hours until a 'minder' told him to go home.

He loved his job, but he loved coming home even more.

He'd Floo'd to the station then gotten the tube into Brixton, falling asleep on the way and almost overshooting his stop. He stumbled home covered by a 'see me not' charm and by the time he got to his front door he could barely see, couldn't lift his head up past his shoulders, his jaw aching from too-huge yawns. He closed the door behind him and tried to toe his shoes off, trying to be quiet because he didn't know if Alfie would be asleep or not. Merlin, but he just wanted to crawl in under the sheets and curl up against the small of Alfie's back.

As it was his shoes were being stubborn and he had to sit down on the couch to wrestle off one; he was asleep before he could even get round to the second, slumped into the arm of the sofa.

"You did," Alfie corrected with a laugh, fingers slipping up unconsciously to start petting through Julien's hair - comfortable, like they belonged there. Which, after five years, he figured they did. Talking about the old journals earlier, it had made him remember how he'd been then - awkward and afraid of this. Now, he couldn't imagine not having it.

"Mmmm..." Julien murmured in agreement, and if he hadn' been as sleepy as he was the very act of Alfie combing through his hair would have had him as snuggly and dozy as he was now, except maybe without the bone deep exhaustion under it all. He finally managed to get his head against Alfie's chest, his arm across his boyfriend's waist and he sighed, heavily but satisfied in the most comfortable place in the world.

If Julien hadn't been quite so obviously dead to the world and tired, Alfie might have thought about kissing at him - waking him up a bit so they could have some fun before they both fell asleep again. But Julien was nestled against him, sleepy and heavy and warm, and Alfie just sighed contentedly and kept petting at him, waiting for him to truly fall asleep.

Julien wanted to stay awake; he wanted to tell Alfie about his day and ask Alfie about his and then kiss and kiss and kiss until everything but them stopped existing... but work had taken it's toll and he just couldn't keep his eyes open any longer.

He slipped off into sleep, sure of waking up with this boy tomorrow.
