Welcome to Winterdale

Over the past week there has been a sudden increase in new arrivals, but they all seem to have one thing in common: they don't know how they got here. Upset and confused, these newcomers never received an invitation like the majority of Winterdale's population. They just seem to appear overnight. Why are they here? How long will they stay? Unfortunately, at this time, no one knows.

OOC: All characters claimed can be NPCs or played by existing players. If you'd like a character to appear, please comment on the Cast List for referencing of all players. You may use an existing (in game) journal and simply upload an icon of the temporarily claimed character for interactions, or join the communities with a personalized journal. All characters claimed will disappear on November 1st. Any that are wanted to stay permanently will need to be fully applied for.

Jellyfish in the Sky

Beginning in the evening of July 25th, all regions of Winterdale will experience a heavy rain. Some areas may flood, and it's people will be suggested to take cover and wait out the storm. By the afternoon on the 27th, the rain will have stopped, but something else will begin to appear in the sky. It starts with one sighting, then another, and by the end of the day the sky is covered: floating, or are they flying, jellyfish. The jellies will range from an inch to three feet and are relatively harmless unless someone flies into their tentacles. At night, the jellyfish have a soft luminescence of varying colors and degrees of intensities. One the morning August 1st, the jellyfish will begin to disappear. By that night, there won't be a single one in sight, seemingly gone as easily as they appeared with no clear answer either way.

Spring Festival! (May 28-30)

The Spring Festival is going on all weekend in Dunwich! There are plenty of fun events and activities celebrating Winterdale's entrance into the warmer seasons!
	As soon as you enter the festival, you are greeted with the Dunwich Carnival set up within walking distance of the Winterdale Mall. Classic carnival games award prizes for the most skilled players! There is also a wide selection of amusements rides including a large ferris wheel!
	Mmm, what's that delicious smell floating through the air? Funnel cake! The festival is packed with food vendors who are selling tasty treats like funnel cakes, candy apples, corn dogs, and fried oreos! There are healthier options somewhere in the mix, but who can deny a splurge at a time like this?
	Several competitions will take place throughout the festival, including human bowling! There's also tug of war, the three legged race, and many other classic favorites where rewards are offered to winners all weekend long! There will also be fun competitions that award larger cash prizes like the pie eating competition and a baking competition (sign up below)!
	Outdoor sports will be played in the northern portion of Dunwich Institute on their playing fields. Softball, football, and soccer are the main focus of the festival. For those wanting to watch versus play, there are a few bleachers set up around that portion of the park. Play ball!
	The weekend will conclude with a concert featuring local talent! Check out our line-up (and sign-up below)!

Deep in the woods on the night of the 24th of March, one of Winterdale's many small covens set about to welcome a new member into their folds. However, in an attempt to welcome their first warlock into their folds, their spell backfired and expanded, drawing upon the natural magic of the Enchanted Forest. As the light of their cast faded, it revealed that the warlock had been turned into a witch. At the time, they didn't know what they did, or if they could fix it. As things usually are in Winterdale, it's never that simple. People across the land will wake up with a body that is their own, but with the change that their gender is not what they had the day before. Luckily, not everyone is effected, but it's enough to cause a stir across the entirety of Winterdale.

ooc: This is our gender-swap plot. Characters will wake up on the 25th with the effects of the spell. Instead of the usual week(ish) time that most spells seem to run their course as most characters will expect, this one will last through the 8th of April instead. It's posted early to allow time for threads should anyone want them. Please hold off on network posts until the 25th unless specifically marked as part of this plot. As usual, you can participate or simply ignore this plot and carry on as usual.

Overnight, strange magic begins to overtake Winterdale. When certain citizens awake, they will find they have taken on certain attributes akin to themselves. Ex: A character who is similar to a cat in some way, might wake with cat ears or a tail. The level of characteristics is up to the player, but no one will fully turn into an animal or otherwise. The enchantment will last one week and span from Feb 22-Mar 1. As usual, all group plots are voluntary. Have fun with it!
