It might have been still snowing outside, but inside things were already heated. Bokuto had felt pleasantly warm from the first set. Warming his body only got so far. He could run for days and it wasn't the same as the stretch and burn of a good jump, the sting of the ball against his palm. It usually took him a while to get in sync with a new setter, but there something about Akaashi that made it feel like he could read Bokuto's mind. It was almost as if Akaashi knew exactly how to set the ball just right even before Bokuto moved to jump. It was probably the most thrilling thing Bokuto had ever experienced.
He let the ball lightly leave his fingertips, straight to Akaashi's own, as he rushed forward, jumped. It was a split-second choice of where to aim left but between the smack of his hand against leather and the ball actually making it to the other side of the court, Bokuto landing, there was a pop and everything went dark. It wasn't completely alarming to have the power go out in the middle of wintery weather, but when it didn't immediately come back on, that was when it got a little more serious. He looked around, even if it was nearly impossible to make out anything at all. "Akaashi?" He hesitated for a moment, but if it was going to stay out, they'd need to leave. It would get cold, and they should probably make it back to the dorm. They could come back and clean up later when it was light out again.
Taking a few tentative steps, he reached out until his hand found the other boy's chest, or what he assumed was his chest. He patted a little until he found Akaashi's arm then took his hand in his and waited a moment. "I got you." He nodded, smiling, even if it couldn't be seen. He had a vague idea of where the door was compared to where they'd been and he took a step in that general direction. "We should probably go back...it doesn't look like it's coming back yet.hould probably go back...it doesn't look like it's coming back yet."
