I think for the first time in years I may actually be experiencing something like boredom with all of this idle time. I've been told there are job opportunities all over town. Any suggestions? I'd offer my resume but I have a sneaking suspicion many of you already know my experience.

Anakin
How did your meeting with that young man go? He gave me an odd feeling. I couldn't place it.

Luke
I know we've only just touched on training but what do you think about starting in earnest now?

I totally get the boredom thing. And there are loads of opportunities over town but right now all I can think to suggest is Jedi and that's not helpful at all. So ignore me or don't, your choice of course.

Fortunately or not I suppose I'll never really stop being a Jedi but unfortunately it doesn't seem to have much practical application in small town life. I'll have s look around town none the less. Maybe something will stand out.

I think it's fortunate, actually I think it's really cool but that could just be me. I'm sure you could find a practical application for it here. If I think of anything I'll be sure to let you know.

I'm as lost on this job thing as you are.

[Obi-wan]
I'd like that. I'm as bored and lost here as everyone else When would you like to start?

It's a bit strange to transition from saving the universe into something like becoming a librarian. Though if Jocasta Nu ever heard me say that she'd have my head... All the same, I'm sure we'll find a way to settle on something.

[Luke]
There are a few things I may need to put together but I was thinking this Saturday? I may have to improvise a bit given our limited resources but the Force seems to be as strong here as it is back home. It feels a bit different, but that shouldn't be a problem for you.

Just as long as I don't have to go back to being a farmer...

[Obi-wan]
Saturday works for me. I'm actually not too sure what else an actual Jedi would use for training. There weren't any left by the time I met you. In fact... I think it was just you.

Different how?

I have a job as a Professor at the college, teaching mechanical engineering. It's quite odd, really.

( Obi-Wan )

He told me he is Darth Vader's grandson. Leia is his mother. Which makes the fact that he didn't believe I am who I said I was make all the more sense.

A professor? Good for you, Anakin. I still remember all the messes you tended to leave behind after tinkering with things when you were a padawan. Mechanical engineering seems appropriate.

[Anakin]
Your grandson. That explains some of the odd feeling. Three generations of Skywalkers all at once then. Force help me. How are you handling all of this? Meeting your son and now your grandson?

It gives me something to do, it keeps me busy. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have a job.

( Obi-Wan )

He turned to the Dark Side, Obi-Wan.

I see.. The Force does run strong in your family but that makes the pull of the Dark Side just as strong. Does he believe you are who you say you are now? If so there may be no one better set to help him than you.

I am not certain if he believes me yet. And he didn't believe you and Luke were here, either.

But if Leia was unable to keep him from turning to the Dark Side, what can I do?

It's not entirely surprising. This situation is strange to begin with. And on top of that the discrepancies in time? It is a great deal to take in.

You know better than anyone the pitfalls of embracing the dark side, Anakin. Even if you haven't fully experienced that yet. Something must have inspired him to turn. It's likely you can parse through that better than I can. And you are family. If he searches his feelings that may be clearer to him.

I will try, Obi-Wan. Just because Leia could not does not mean I cannot.

He looked after me well enough.

It wasn't his fault I ended up the way I did.

Probably not. Some lessons only need to be learned once.

Ah, thank you for the offer. If I might ask, what sort of business goes on at your shop?

Well, I'm not sure if it's up your alley, but it's a magical joke shop.

It's fun.

It is definitely boring here without a job.

What do you like to do in your spare time? Maybe you can do something similar to what you like to do.

I'm learning that the hard way, it seems. I certainly hate to complain, especially considering how accommodating the local population has been. It's just a bit strange to be so idle.

Spare time. Now there's a phrase I haven't associated with myself in quite some time. It may seem strange but I don't immediately have an answer for that. The life of a Jedi is one of dedication, not much recreation.

I agree with you on that one. I've never been one to take to being idle.

Maybe you could work at the youth center or one of the schools?
