Meetings at WW

My WW meeting on Friday was amazing! I lost almost 2 pounds last week officially breaking my yoyo weight loss. Also a co-worker and a friend of mine will be joining the WW center in the next couple of weeks. She got a free registration from her doctor and she is scared to go alone.

I know I had the wrong impression of a WW meeting before I joined. I was expecting something like an AA meeting. I wasn't comfortable with the idea. Then my sister literally dragged me with her. I was pleasantly surprised.

What I did today was email my friend the schedule of the times my center is open and when I normally attend. Then I told what we talk about at the meetings. She'll learn about how the plan works at the first meeting and then we really don't talk about the plan again. Our meetings are about how to prepare for events (holidays, potlucks, parties, etc)managing our activity, learning how and when we can add activity to our plan, congratulate each other on successes, share our struggles. It's kind of like a luncheon without the lunch part. :) I've been know to bring lunch for my daughter who is 8 months and usually needs to have her lunch during the meeting. We share recipes and strategy sessions. It's truely not the tearful I can't go it alone, I have an addiction kind of place that I thought it was. Truth is, we're all there for different reasons. I want to be healthy and feel sexy again. An older couple just want to be able to do more with themselves that a weight issue was inhibiting. Most of us want our health back. Though we are all there for support, we never linger on failures. We are doing good for ourselves just by doing the program. We are sounding boards for each other.

Yeah, that's why that even though I've some set backs, I still go. I'm so happy my friend is going to. :)
