Non Scale Victory!

I had a MAJOR nsv last night! I could go into details, but then I'd get told to post it elsewhere *giggles*. Lets just say I'm still glowing and leave it at that.

It's nice to feel comfortable in my own skin again. I have just under 100 pounds left to lose, but I'm noticing changes every day. Can't wait to go to my meeting this week and weigh in. That in itself is another NSV. I have gotten over my irrational fear of the scale.

Medication question and WW...

Is anyone on metaphormin...aka...Glucophage? I know I'm killing the spelling.

My endo put me on it because of Polycystic Ovary issues and my blood sugars were starting to creep up into the "pre-diabetic" level. *sigh*  That was before I started doing WW again and got 35 lbs off now!! W00t! My blood sugars are down, as is my blood pressure and heart rate. :-D My heart rate has been sitting at 90 for a long time. That isn't abnormal in my family. My Mom's heart rate is ALWAY been 90, but my Dad on the other hand, his is down around 60 to 50. In high school, my heart rate was down in the 60s, but since then I've developed a list of autoimmune medical problems and list of medications as long as your arm. The endo put me on the new medication as a preventive measure to keep me from becoming diabetic.

Anywho, is anyone else on metaformin? I had hit a platue for a while before my check-up and was doing good to shed 1-2 lbs every two weeks. Since starting the new medication, I've dropped about 5 lbs in the last week! Whoo!!! Is this normal or am I just off the platue for a while?

Thanks!!!

Meetings at WW

My WW meeting on Friday was amazing! I lost almost 2 pounds last week officially breaking my yoyo weight loss. Also a co-worker and a friend of mine will be joining the WW center in the next couple of weeks. She got a free registration from her doctor and she is scared to go alone.

I know I had the wrong impression of a WW meeting before I joined. I was expecting something like an AA meeting. I wasn't comfortable with the idea. Then my sister literally dragged me with her. I was pleasantly surprised.

What I did today was email my friend the schedule of the times my center is open and when I normally attend. Then I told what we talk about at the meetings. She'll learn about how the plan works at the first meeting and then we really don't talk about the plan again. Our meetings are about how to prepare for events (holidays, potlucks, parties, etc)managing our activity, learning how and when we can add activity to our plan, congratulate each other on successes, share our struggles. It's kind of like a luncheon without the lunch part. :) I've been know to bring lunch for my daughter who is 8 months and usually needs to have her lunch during the meeting. We share recipes and strategy sessions. It's truely not the tearful I can't go it alone, I have an addiction kind of place that I thought it was. Truth is, we're all there for different reasons. I want to be healthy and feel sexy again. An older couple just want to be able to do more with themselves that a weight issue was inhibiting. Most of us want our health back. Though we are all there for support, we never linger on failures. We are doing good for ourselves just by doing the program. We are sounding boards for each other.

Yeah, that's why that even though I've some set backs, I still go. I'm so happy my friend is going to. :)

Went clothes shopping yesterday

I found I had lost 2 sizes. I'm so happy. The past 3 months on WW has seen my weight yoyo with the same 5 pounds week in and week out. I follow the program so I don't get it. My leader suggested boosting my metabolism by drinking 8 ounces of Orange juice each morning. So I'm trying it. I've done well this week, but the past 3 months make me dread weigh in. Still though, I'll keep it up. I'll break this. And I'll keep losing and reach my goal. Only 100 pounds to go, 30 pounds lost.

I have to admit, though I normally dread shopping, I feel energized about the program again.

Point whine...

I had to go get fasting blood work this morning so, I stopped at Starbucks on the way home to get a skinny latte with sugar free syrup in it..and I got a multigrain bagel. It was wonderful. I checked the points when I got home.

*jaw drop*

6 points for one bagel!!! 7 with the tiny amount of cream cheese I used on it.

*sigh*

My skinny latte was only 2 points.

....but...*sigh*....

Needless to say, that's all I've had today until supper.

WHINE!

Post to say, "Hello". :-)

I just wanted to post to say hello. I'm relatively new to IJ and just joined this community a few weeks ago.

I did WW about 5 years ago and lost 50 lbs, but then it went back on when I had some medication switched. *sigh* I put most of it back on in 3 months due to medication. Blah!

Anyways, I've just been recently diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary and starting to show signs of insulin resistance and my dr wanted me to get some weight off and get a look at my hormones and cholesterol numbers after two month of diet and exercise before putting me on glucophage.

I've been doing WW again for the last 6 weeks and I've got off 23 lbs so far!

I just did a round with 60mg of prednisone to cope with my asthma from the tree pollen this spring. I'm tapering off it and since I got to a lower dosage, I've taken off a couple more lbs this week. :-D

I'm in for the long haul on WW for now. I've got 57 lbs to go to get my goal weight of 150.

I started at 230 and I'm down to 207 as of this morning. :-)

I'm not doing meetings, but have the books and am doing it with my family. Both my folks are doing it to which is helping all of us. I am doing the point ranges instead of the new fixed points and flex points, if that makes sense.  It's working, so, I'm not going to mess with it.

I have been working out, but had to stop for a while due to asthma flare issues and an upper respiratory infection, but I'm going to get back with the weights and bike again.

So, hi and this is me. :-)

And another 5 pounds melts away

It took the past two weeks but I finally got 5 more pounds off. I think I may have finally borken my plateau and it feels really good. :)

Hello All

I came over here from live journal.com. Getting kinds fed up with how commercial LJ has gotten and someone pointed me in the direction of insane journal. Glad to find a WW journal here.

I've been going to WW since my daughter was 2 weeks old. I was on WW for about 5 weeks or so when I got pregnant with my Daughter. She has been my inspiration to go back when I did. She also inspired me to Walk for Babies in April. I'm currently in training for the 4 mile walk. I'm looking forward to a great weigh in (my day is Friday) this week. I've struggled all through Feb and a good bit of March so it feels great to be back on track. I'll post my stats later today.

Thanks for being here!

Well I lost the 3lbs I gained last week. It's such a huge relief for me. I really was feeling like a total failure. My spirits are definitely up today. Hopefully I'll have a successful weekend. Weekends are always the hardest for me.

I'm back.

I haven't posted here in a while, due to RL things. My father passed away and I had to travel to handle the preparations, etc. I was in Charleston, SC, where my uncle showed me some of the most fabulous food I've ever eaten. Moderation was my friend. I moved around more than normal, so I'm attributing that to the fact that even with the stress, depression, food and such, I still lost 2 lbs from the last time I weighed in, about 3 weeks ago. Not much, but it's a boost.

Devistated...

I gained 3.8lbs this week. I'm so disappointed in myself. I can't even really put it into words.

I lost another 2lbs this week. I'm still really struggling to eat all my points. This medication really has taken away my appetite and cravings. I don't really even want to eat anymore. Any of you guys have any experiences with Effexor XR? Even thought I'm not eating all my points it at least appears I'm eating enough not to go into starvation mode.

I'd like to know what others choose when they go out to eat.
I'm always conflicted as to what to choose.
Lunch and dinner time!

WI week *20* (WOW!)

I can't believe I've been on weightwatchers for 20 weeks! That's amazing. I don't think I've stuck to anything that long before. I lost .6 this week. Not as good as my 3.6 last week but still good. I've been having issues eating all my points since being on this new medication. I really think now that I'm on depression meds and my moods and emotions are under control I'm also able to control my urges. I don't really have the urge to eat anymore. I've been ending my day with like 9 and 10 points left. Arg! I'll work through it I'm sure.

Down .8, up .2, down .4... THIS STINKS. S'all I have to say.

A good week!

I had a good week, but nearly ruined it at a retirement lunch for a friend today - fried potato wedges, garlic mushrooms, and cream cake! Still I lost another 1.5lbs this week so I am very happy :-)

Now to face a weekend in Vienna - does anyone have any tips on how to resist sachertorte and apfel strudel :-/ ?

WI on Friday

My WI was on Friday I just didn't feel like posting for some reason. I lost 3.6lbs after not loosing anything for almost a month. I was just put on Effexor and it made me sick so I think that's why I lost the 3.6lbs but I'm not sure. Hopefully this Friday I'll loose so I know it wasn't a fluke.
