I know that magic isn't the same everywhere, but I figure that someone might have some advice anyway.

I'm having a control issue with my magic sometimes
I use a type of magic
Sometimes, here lately, I set fires in my sleep

Control is something that I'm realizing I don't always manage. I've gotten better at it, but I've also managed to catch blankets on fire in my sleep a couple of times. So, if anyone has any tips about control I'd definitely appreciate it.

[Mikaelsons minus Henrik]

I can't believe I'm doing this
I wouldn't normally do this, but... Do any of you know much about Expression really? Beyond just that it is called a dark magic.

[Caroline]

I talked to Elena, so I should talk to you too

I don't want to worry you or anything, so don't. But I'm having some control issues with Expression. And I kind of set my blanket on fire in my sleep last night.

I'm going to talk to some of the other magic users and the Originals about it, sort of, see if I can figure it out.

And I also just wanted to ask if you're doing okay? I know that not everyone had as good a time as I had at Hogwarts.

I always loved it. Charms and DADA. I completely suck at potions though. I never get the measurements right.

Ooh, nice combo. Slytherins do have a bad reputation sometimes, but there are a lot of good qualities in that House. Ambition and cunning can be valuable traits if used well. It's different by my time, the House rivalries are less. I'm proud to be a Hufflepuff, personally! I was never studious enough to be a Ravenclaw and I lack cunning like crazy. I guess I'm more loyal than brave really.

I like to think I was good at everything, but in reality I definitely wasn't. I think potions seems like something that is very by the book and you have to be super focused. I think my Grams probably would have been good at all of the subjects, especially potions and DADA.

Thanks. I guess I always focused on the bad reputation, but there were others in the house too and they were pretty good people. Do you miss it there? I kind of already do.

If you managed to keep awake during History of Magic, you should win some sort of award! It's so dull!

Sometimes I miss it, because I think we all miss high school sometimes, especially when it's an awesome magic school. And we didn't have to do things like think about jobs or responsibilities or adult stuff like that! Though I always had the whole 'Potter legacy' to live up to, both in school and after I left.

I think it's pretty interesting. That's kind of what I'm most interested in here is magical history and practice.

Ah, so you feel both ways about it. I guess I can understand that too, though.

History is how we learn from our mistakes. I used to like learning stuff from Aunt Hermione more, she had ways of making things sound more interesting.

I think most people do when they leave school. Magical or not, a lot of what we face is the same thing.

Exactly! I bet she could probably make anything interesting, though because she is probably interesting. I guess some of it depends on who you have telling you some about it. My grams always made it interesting too. Even if there were times when I was in a hurry or bored.

It's true, I guess it's only human to look back on the good times.
