I get that. I mean, I was barely dead long before I turned up here and I've got family around but..doesn't exactly always help. And when we made that truce and all, I mean, I had no clue what to do. My usual MO was kill anything that walks that I damn well felt like and if someone got in my way, they go too. I've figured a way around that, that still gives me some working ground but...yeah, I get being lost on what to do round here. Especially now. There's no big giant threat looming over us and all that, so, where do we even go from here?

Well, I did ask.

He holds people up to impossible standards and then is so disgusted when they fail. And makes them feel like crap.

Do you dream? About what happened? When I was a ghost I didn't sleep so I didn't dream. Now I dream, about all of it. I wake up screaming.

When I was dead, I was useful. I had powers. I could help. But now I'm alive again, I'm actually nothing.

Yeah, I dream. About dying, what little bit of the Other Side I experienced. About being possessed. ...No one actually knows that. That I still dream about it. I just try ignoring it, you know? Everybody's got their own shit going on and I really...don't like talking about it anyway. I avoid sleeping when the dreams get too regular. Course, you can't do that, humans need sleep. But you could text me if you want, next time.

Whether high and mighty believes it or not, you're my friend, Alex. And I think you know how I am with my friends. Don't have a ton of them, but the ones I've got count.

Yeah, don't punch him. The sad thing is, I think he genuinely believes he's giving people a fair chance and they're the ones in the wrong for constantly letting him down. He doesn't understand that no one can live up to the standards he demands.

You've not talked to your family about it? Or your two lovers, which is totally hot, by the way. Maybe you should. It might help. Humans should not need sleep, sleep is lame. Do not approve. But thank you. I mean it.

No. Don't see the point, really. Can't fix it or change it, you know? Just have to deal with it. And...thanks. I don't even really know how I went a thousand years without bedding the same person more than twice to having two actual lovers but...wouldn't change it for anything. You're welcome.
