If you wake up before I get back, I'm invading a tea shop. Yes it is stupid early. I was done sleeping.

How do you feel about the beach this morning?

Someone make me the worlds smallest tracking device I can make someone drink in tea or something. Christmas present. I'll pay for it.

You. Where are you staying? I'm not okay with not knowing where John is or if he's okay or not, right now.

I might be able to make something like that. What for?

I like to give weird Christmas presents. Secret Christmas presents. That they drink in tea and know nothing about.

Strictly speaking this is probably rather extremely illegal if you get caught. Unconstitutional or something.

The amount of caring I do about the law is crazy low, dude.

It's probably also illegal to teleport into the White House and steal an armchair, but, oops.

Probably is. It's also probably illegal to do what I do at night. Then again, being taken in by a man who dresses as a giant bat to fight crime probably isn't normal either.

I'll see what I can do about it. But if you do have someone eat or drink it, it will pass out of their system in a few hours with the digestive track.

...isn't there some super sciency way to make it stay?

'Cause if not, that's not gonna work at all.

I can look into one if it's viable. Maybe have it merge into the bloodstream.

Would this tiny tracking device you plan on tossing in tea happen to be for a certain mutual doctor friend of ours?

Maybe.

I have a cabin just outside the city limits.

I assure you, he's getting the rest he needs, he's taking his medications as necessary, and he's eating as much as he'll take. The only difference between my home and the hospital is he's not being pestered by doctors and nurses every hour and he's getting some fresh air.

It's Kat. Don't make me sound like a kindergarten teacher.

What's the address? I'm not gonna be harassing either of you, I just feel better knowing. And maybe showing up and making sure. Not that I don't trust you ....but if I didn't I'm pretty sure that would be completely fair, considering.

But, yeah. If he wants to be alone, I'll leave him alone. Once I see for myself he's really kinda okayish.

It's a sign of respect. And I doubt anyone could see you as a teacher.

And I'm sure that would be entirely understandable for you not to trust me. However, it is for John to decide if he wants to see others and if he does, he will give you the address.

You know, it's a good thing I've gotten used to checking this thing if you're not there in the mornings.

I'm fond of the beach. Didn't use to be. Then again, not many beaches on Osiris.

Sorry. Are notes better? Should I start using actual paper?

Good. All this cold is making me cranky.

Is that an actual "yes I'm cool with kidnapping;, our just a passive new fondness for beaches? Just so I know.

I wouldn't complain about having a secondary reassurance that you're all right, no.

Yes, I'm cool with kidnapping. Yes, I have a passive new fondness for beaches. Yes, I think we're buying you a new suit.

Self-preservation isn't a crime, Kat. If they're talking about a mission that's just this side of suicidal, it's normal to not want to be involved. Wonderful for those that are, but most of them are highly superpowered or not human. You have teleportation going for you and that's about it.

Not that that isn't cool and all. But still. You get my point.

...see, that's great except it's not self preservation, cause if it were just popping in to grab something out from under Lucifer's nisse I'd probably go. But they said torture. I can't. I couldn't even go see John.

It's almost a year. This is stupid.

Everyone heals at a different pace, Kat. I don't do torture well either. You were severely traumatized. That isn't just going to go away. You've come a long way, I think.

I don't like that 'severely traumatized' just feels like an excuse, though. Like, oops, sorry, I can't eat anything fleshy because I was Severely Traumatized. I can't help you, it'll upset me and my Severe Trauma.

It doesn't feel like progress right now.

The only thing I can suggest is another form of therapy. Something considerably more intensive. You'd have to be willing to trust me completely to not let you get hurt or to hurt yourself, but more often than not, it works, and permanently, not as a temporary fix.

It's actually a relatively common treatment for PTSD, I just know how you'll react. It's called Prolonged Exposure Therapy and basically...well, it's exactly how it sounds. Exposing you to the things that cause your fears. Starting slowly and working your way up.

I do trust you. I mean, if I didn't, I'd just say hell no and probably get angry and yell a lot or something, but, I don't know. I'll think about it. I do still want to fix this.

There's also hypnotherapy, but I'm pretty new at it. We could try it, though, if you'd be more comfortable.
