Considering you haven't sensed anything, and neither has River because she'd have a strong reaction to both of those two being present, I'm going with hallucinations. And this is the only time you will hear me say this, but I'm glad that I'm hallucinating.

So far they seem to be more taunting me than anything. But that's how it started with Palpatine's ghost as well.
