Filtered Against Evil and Maleficent
For those of you who were friendly with him, I went by Jonathan's apartment today. I believe he's been taken home. ~~Which means he's~~ ~~Just like the rest of them now~~ ~~First Belle, then Glinda, and now~~

I'm unsure how I feel about the Oscar presentation as well. I suppose in the grand scheme of everything terrible that happens around here, it's hardly anything to be concerned with. ~~And yet I can't stop thinking about~~

I suppose. I don't think Grantaire even knew where he was he was so lost in his bottle. But the others...perhaps you're right. Or maybe they simply stayed because I'm a persuasive leader when taking an army to its death.

I would have liked to see it through your eyes. Might've made the speeches more convincing, might have made the people stand with me. I walked the streets a few times, making myself blend in and trying to see it all. I'm not stupid, you know, I did have a clue what I was doing. But someone to guide, to point things out would have been helpful.

I think sometimes he was less lost in it than he let on to people. I think sometimes he understood more than you think.

And they stayed because of you and because they believed in freedom.

There's still a darker side to this world, the bit a man like you would never have seen, you still fight those injustices so I can show you that. I know about that. Though Monsieur you could never have blended in in places like that!

But your speeches came from the heart. That's all the convincing I needed anyway

Oh, you are a smart one. It's true, many times he didn't want to be bothered. Or he didn't want to be asked anything important. Admittedly, once he was sober, we had some excellent talks with plenty of ideas. He was a smart man, he just didn't want to face the world as it was.

You assume too much, petite. I know the people I stood for. I do now, too. To you and to the other men, I looked the part of leader, or revolutionary. But I do know how to hide when it's needed. And I did, for a bit. Though not as in depth as I'd have liked and I hadn't even considered doing so in this world. Though it isn't as taboo to get involved in this time.

Still, would you like to? Maybe there are ways we can help.

I saw it all the time in the inn. Smart men drowning pain away. Im not surprised he wanted to. Way it was we probably all wanted to. Not suprised to know he was smart too.

Then I learn something new about you. Id love to show you more of it. Get involved and help. There is still suffering even in this modern time. We both can help do you think?

I think people often looked at the two of us and wondered why we were friends. But honestly, I knew him better than most. I knew him before he discovered liquor. It was an easy way to hide, and even when he wasn't truly drunk, he wasn't expected to be involved because everyone already thought he was.

Believe me, I know there's still suffering. There are still people who go to bed hungry, families with no home to call their own, children not getting an education. I do what I can now but it isn't enough. If you think seeing the world on that side, from their point of view, would help, then I'm more than willing.

I appreciate your help. It means a lot that you're willing to.
