Filtered against evil
I've seen a few posts about a camp and various classes that are being offered to those of us misplaced here. Are any of them for those my age? It seems people are under the misguided belief that it is better to keep the "children" in the dark concerning what is happening around us in order to "protect us". I would like to point out that all you're doing is making it infinitely easier for someone my age to be harmed. After all knowledge is power and having more than the minimum basics about what we are up against can be quite useful.

It's not as though I'm planning on going out and tracking Lucifer down, but I don't see the harm in being taught what to do if I find myself face to face with one of this world's monsters without access to my magic again. It happened once and I dare say we'd all be foolish to think it won't happen again.

As we've discussed before I see no reason for you to not be able to defend yourself, Hermione. If no one else will teach you what you need to know I would be more than happy to.

Thank you, Robin. I would like to learn how to use a bow and sword properly.

Two things I'd be more than happy to show you. I may even be able to arrange a bow for you.

As well as a sword?

I don't see why not. Though for that we should see what type you're most comfortable with first.

That does make sense. When might we begin?

Whenever you'd like, I've nothing but free time at the moment. I teach archery on Tuesday nights if you want to come along for that.

I'm still learning some about this world's dangers too but I can at least show you self defense, like karate and stuff if you'd like.

How much experience do you have with karate?

I was trained in a lot of different fighting styles since I was old enough to walk.

No problem. Are you staying at the complex? I know they have a gym so it could be easiest to there if you'd like.

I stay with my Mom and the other Avengers and some other people at [address of warehouse]. There's kind of like a training obstacle course here too if you ever want to check it out.

Well the thing is, we haven't had all that many kids until recently. But you're absolutely right. You, Henry, Grace, the Sergievsky girls...there's no reason you guys shouldn't know what to do if something happened.

I've been teaching the Sergievsky girls and Henry some self defense for quite a while now. I don't see why I couldn't throw together something for the complex kids as well as the center. I'll see about drawing up a lesson plan.

Get with Robin. He's offered as well but maybe one of you could work physical and the other could help with theory? Or heck, teach together, what kid wouldn't want two incredible teachers??

Then we'll be permitted to attend the classes being offered as well?

I don't see why not. But a class geared towards your age level might be good, too. Something where you aren't running into the fighting but you still know what to do if it starts.

...actually from what I know of you, you may be able to help. You're learning from lots of different people, it seems. Maybe after a few lessons you'll be able to help come up with a lesson plan for the other Seal kids.

Whenever someone says "geared toward your age level" they usually mean dumbing it down. Or so it seems. I do not think that is what you mean here though. At least I hope it isn't.

I would very much like to help with that if I can.

Not at all. Some of the kids in this city are smarter than most of the adults I know. I more meant that not everyone enjoys school work as much as you do and might like a different setting is all. And some of the subject matter might be more important for kids or less so.

Oh, I see what you're saying. I think with all the different people teaching various courses everyone will be able to find something to learn about.

Well, yes, there's that. But keep in mind, a lot of those classes are for adults who will probably end up on the front lines of battle. Our goal is to keep you guys out of it as much as necessary. I just thought a class geared towards situations kids in general would run into and how to handle them might work best. Though you're more than welcome to check out the others!
