The roster of members is currently:

Mara
Myka
Tenel Ka--beverages and host
Svetlana
Florence—can provide refreshments sometimes
Elphaba—can host sometimes (rotate locations)
Hermione
Ruby—can host sometimes
Jason
Darcy A.--can host sometimes
Kimberly
Peeta--potentially provide baked goods

If at any time someone is interested in leaving the book club all you need to do is let me know and I will remove you from the list.

I figured that everyone has had a bit of time now, so I would pose these questions: 1) Does anybody have any suggestions for books? and 2) Would it be possible for everyone to meet sometime next week?

Edit:

Next week seems to work for everyone. We will hold the first meeting at my home to begin things. The others that can host and I will come up with a rotation for where we will be in the following meetings later. Would Thursday at 6pm work well for everyone?

It has been suggested that we find a genre and go from there to select a book. I believe this would be helpful. Shall we take a vote on the genre?

I can host sometimes, too, Tenel-Ka, if you need or want me to. I'm good for next week, yes. Book suggestions...lemme think on it lol

I have added that for you. Think on it, I have been perusing book lists, and am still ruminating.

:)

In reference to your edited note, Thursday at six works for me and a vote on a genre would probably make things much easier. I vote we do that lol

I feel like we should start with, like, Lord of the Flies or something :P Kidding. Mostly I should be back in town soon, next week will be fine for me, too :) I still can't believe Jason's serious about

Well, I have never read that book, your mention was the first I had heard of it. I'm glad that time works for you, though. If you have any suggestions between now and then feel free to offer them.

It was required reading in high school for me but I never actually read it. I read the Cliff's Notes :P If we're stuck for an idea, it could always be a fallback title. I hear it's actually really good. I can do next Thursday at 6 no problem and I'm down with a vote for genre. That'll help narrow it down and keep the selection open enough that everybody gets a say.

I have added that onto the list, feel free to contribute any time that you wish to, Peeta, I am sure that we all appreciate it.

Will do. Thursday works for me. I'll read anything, I'm not picky...whatever everyone else wants.

My suggestion would be something military related? But that is probably just the soldier in me talking. Next week is fine with me.

I also find that area interesting, though I'm not sure it would be to everyone's tastes. It is something for consideration, though. I am glad it suits your schedule.

True enough. Thursday works well for me. As for genre, perhaps something non-fictional? Though I am not so picky, but that is my first choice.

Also if you need any help setting up for Thursday, I would be more than happy to come and help you with that.

Anything with good historical story to it. Next week works.

I'll definitely look in that area, should you have any title suggestions before next week, please feel free to offer them.

Thursday is fine with me. I have read a couple of Philippa Gregory's books, and would recommend any of hers.

Next week sounds great. As for suggestions, perhaps it would be easier to narrow it down to a genre everyone agrees on and go from there?

That is a clever idea, I believe that would be beneficial.

Personally, I'm not very picky, I'll read just about anything.

I am uncertain when Florence and I will be back in the country as it depends on how the match turns out. The last set one is for the 28th so either way, we would be unable to make it on Thursday.
