Guys, this is Nate Grey, your friendly neighborhood shaman, with a little public service announcement.

DON'T TALK TO PEOPLE THAT THREATEN TO MAIM AND MURDER YOUR LOVED ONES.

Thank you. We now return you to your regularly scheduled panic.

I just honestly can't believe I even had to say it.

No. I know.

People tend to get overly emotional, when its friends gone wrong like this

Yeah, I get that. Believe me, of all people, I get that. It's not their friends, though. There's a post right there explaining it, and a couple other comments explaining it, and people are still insisting on talking to the guy that's cavalierly talking about killing people when it isn't the same guy.

And y'know, my friend not knowing me like he should gets to me. But he's not trying to kill anyone and more to the point I know he's not my Danny. See the distinction I went and made there.

I don't know how many other ways we can say it.

Yeah, obviously it's going to get to people. I'm not saying it shouldn't, I was as guilty of it as anyone here once upon a time. But there's a difference between me wishing the Forge of the X-Men was the same as the Forge that lead the Outcasts in my timeline, and taunting a guy that's talking about maiming and murdering like it's a typical grocery list just because he has the same face as a friend of yours.

Eventually someone's going to get hurt. That's the point where my patience is going to run out.

You'd think that'd be obvious, wouldn't you?

I was really sort of hoping it was, but apparently we've got a lot of people here with deeply hidden suicidal tendencies.

Or we've got more than a few idiots here. Jury's still out on that one.

Based on what I know of the idiots in question, most of them are hero types. Or worse, wannabe hero types. Think they'll save the day by taking on the King of Hell.

Oh, it's not just that. If it were I'd be doing the same thing. This, I'm thinking, is a potentially terminal case of the stupids. None of them have even stopped to consider what's going to happen when their brilliant plan of taunting the bad guy backfires.

My question is, are they planning to talk him to death? Where's the plan of action? Usually the people here are much smarter. There's usually loads of planning and effort and then they take on the bad guy. This...isn't happening right now.

[info]thexman

No, it isn't, and it's going to get people hurt or killed. But there's only so much we can do to make people realize it.

I'm really not supportive of the hurt or killed thing. But you can't talk sense into some people. I've been trying for years.

I could do something, but it crosses all kinds of moral and ethical boundaries for lots of people. And while I'd happily cross them if somebody actually got hurt because of all this ridiculous bravado, I'm hesitant to do it as a preventative.

Question is, how do we keep the ones that don't approve from getting themselves and others hurt? Without me just making them all go to sleep or something. Huge ethical lines crossed on that one.

I'm a big fan of rounding them all up and putting them in a technology free room personally.

Oh, if only that would actually work. Too many of them would be able to get out of the room.

I don't have a suggestion. That's sort of the core problem here.

Then maybe you could pass this message along to the others, since they seem to have completely overlooked the common sense of not taunting the bad guy until you actually have a plan beyond "talk shit".

You're over a guy claiming to be the King of Hell. Did Scott somehow manage to put me in charge of X-Men: Junior High? Well, give it a shot, anyway. Since apparently posting it in big bold capital letters didn't do the trick.

You'd think, huh? Apparently instead people think it's better to just taunt without a plan. Because that won't backfire.

People don't always think when they're upset, I guess. Still, dangerous for everyone involved.

Did you see the news? Looks like we're already too late on trying to stop things from getting out of hand.

I saw the news.

The crazy is getting bad already, apparently. I think people are really in danger now and just trying to keep people calm isn't going to suffice.

Yeah, I saw. Question is, how do we stop the King of Hell? The supernatural isn't exactly my strong suit, and last I checked Doc Strange isn't here to ask.

I have no idea, the supernatural isn't quite my forte. We don't even really know what he's capable of and without knowing that we're at a big disadvantage.

Except he's not. Multiple people have already explained this. Alternate reality doubles have been exchanged for the people we know. Maybe he's genetically identical but he is not the same guy. I am so tired of explaining this again and again and nobody getting it.
