Booth shouldn't have been excited. It was some kind of crisis. Super heroes losing their powers, kind people suddenly twisted into jerks. But he couldn't help it. He'd dreamed about having super powers ever since he was a little boy after picking up his first comic book and reading the Flash. Now he had super powers. He could run at the speed of light. He could go back in time and reverse it if he tried hard enough. It was every little boys dream come true. So there was almost nothing that could bring him down.
He was in the kitchen that evening with a big grin on his face, and a comic book in hand as he waited for his food to cook. It was nothing extravagant, just scrambled eggs and bacon. He wasn't really a chef. He did alright but it wasn't anything to admire. Eggs were easy enough, and he was starving. What was it about super speed that made people hungry? He remembered in the comics the Flash used to eat like a sumo wrestler. But he never gained a pound. And a few hours later like a normal person he was hungry again! Was that going to happen to him? Would the eggs even touch his little hunger problem? He looked over at them as he picked up a spatula and put down the comic book beside the stove.
A page turned open and a piece of toast with butter and honey in his mouth. He read over it as things sizzled and cracked with the stirring of the substance. Breakfast for dinner was his favorite thing in the world. Normally he went to Crown, but since it probably didn't exist he was glad he had their recipe's on his cellphone. It wasn't the same as sitting at the food bar with Bones, but he had to do something. He couldn't just eat out until he contacted the local Feds and saw about getting himself situated with them. He didn't have an endless supply of money for food. So he had to make do and adapt, and he was. Pretty decently at that. The demon issue was a little bit above him, but he was trying and that had to count for something right?
