WHO: Chloe and Bobby
WHAT: Letting him know she's leaving.
WHEN: Early morning.
WHERE: Bobby's.
This wasn't something she could leave on a post-it note. Chloe had been up the entire night into morning. She wanted to get to Chicago soon, not wanting the boys to be alone for too long. It's not that she didn't trust Bart on making sure they were fed, clothed and had a place to stay, but she didn't want them to feel like they had no one. This was going to be different. The whole mothering thing. She was hoping it wouldn't really come to that, maybe they'll all be able to co-inhabit the apartment and no one will have to be sent to their room.
Bobby's place had easily become her home over the past month so it was a little sad for her to be leaving. It was comfortable, and she didn't know if he would admit it but she knew a part of Bobby would miss her. If not at least her cooking. That's why she had been up cooking meal after meal, using all the food she had picked up after the visit to the market last week. All Bobby would have to do is pop it in the microwave or oven and he would have a nice meal to enjoy. As long as he didn't burn it. The count was up to 8 meals. Various takes on steak, chicken, fish, roast, and double of the ribs the boys enjoyed so much.
Chloe spent half the night on the grill. Everything took at least 2 hours to slow cook but that's what made it full of flavor. Thatcher hadn't left her side too much, unless Chloe threw one of her toys. There was on instance when she didn't chase after the ball and stood by Chloe's side to guard her. That freaked her out for moment. Bobby had traps all over the place but he had mentioned he still had visitors. She still had a lot more to learn. Facing a demon would not be ideal right now. What was she going to do? Smack it with a rump roast? The worries of how to defend herself went away when she spotted what Thatcher was protecting her from. A little squirrel! "You're sweet girl." It was funny, and cute. She was going to miss this place, Bobby and Thatcher. But as soon as she found out a way to she would be visiting again..if Bobby still lets her. She needs his help in more than one way. Doom was sure to follow if he said no.
Thatcher barking and attacking the squirrel must have woke Bobby up, because she noticed a larger figure walking around the house. Rounding up the pup she made her way inside and grabbed Bobby a cup of coffee. "It's fresh, I just had a cup 10 minutes ago."
