WHO: Tony & Felicia
WHAT: Getting away from Lawrence.
WHEN: Backdated a bit!
WHERE: Starting in Tony's private jet and onward to fun places.
RATING: TBD.

Typically, it was in Lawrence - home of all things bizarre and headache inducing - where a soap opera decided to evolve into reality. When Tony had found out that Peter Parker was actually Peter Parker's evil clone (or formerly evil clone?), he knew that Felicia was going to fall into a very bad and painful place. Even though a part of Tony was secretly glad that it wasn't the actual Peter that they were dealing with (he was reluctant to admit it, but the idea of Felicia's ex running around Lawrence made him moody), the thought of Felicia getting burned because of all of this wasn't one that sat well with him.

He hadn't been terribly surprised when Felicia agreed to take off with him. Skipping town and getting the hell away from the problem was infinitely better than staying behind and dealing with it. Tony knew that. He was the King of Avoidance. He avoided business meetings, he avoided work that he didn't want to do, he avoided people that he didn't want to see, events that he didn't want to go to, and essentially everything and anything that he just flat out had no interest in being involved in. If there was a problem in Lawrence that he didn't want to be anywhere near, he took two steps back and turned in the opposite direction as quickly as he could. Unless the city was caught up in a deadly crisis or someone personally needed help on a serious level, Tony really wasn't going to get buried in anything he didn't want to have to dig his way out of. As far he could tell, Felicia didn't either, and so the two of them decided to happily take advantage of the private jet that Tony had to his name.

The jet had taken off a while ago. Tony had settled up on one of the leather couches in the back corner, where he was comfortably sipping at a glass of expensive wine. Initially, Tony had debated on taking them out to New York, but the idea of Felicia getting even more caught up on this not-Peter business by showing up in the city Spider-Man belonged to didn't seem like such a great idea. L.A. was his second choice. Big city, lots of fun places to visit. The perfect distraction. That was what Felicia needed.

"I don't think you and I travel nearly as much as we should," Tony declared, tipping his glass upward. "We should change that."

She seemed much more relaxed now that they were clear of Lawrence. Tony wasn't really surprised by that. Peter Parker clone or not, Lawrence was the type of place most people would be relieved to avoid if they knew what really went on there. What did surprise him was that more people didn't take off from the place whenever they could. And the most shocking thing of all? Was that a lot of the people who fell through the seal willingly chose to live in the same city they were dropped in. The overall assumption would have been that those people were either really courageous, really stupid, or really goddamn crazy, but Tony tried to avoid judging them openly. Why? Because he had decided to stick around too.

But not today. Nope, today Tony was doing something far more satisfying than sitting around a hell infested city to wait on the apocalypse. Today he was with Felicia Hardy, who Tony was more than pleased to be with. He didn't often talk about it, but Felicia made him feel things that he wasn't used to feeling when he was around a woman. She was fun, yes, and of course she was great in bed, but that wasn't where the feelings ended. They were supposed to, but they didn't and he found that he was oddly very okay with that.

Tony thought that maybe Felicia was actually oddly okay with that too. Maybe.

"You'd turn down your job if I took you to those museums," Tony declared confidently. She would. How could the ultimate cat burglar miss out on the chance to paw her way around a set of fancy European museums? It would have been an interesting enough experience with Black Cat doing what Black Cat did best, while Tony played the pointedly oblivious card in the background. He couldn't help but wonder if he would even notice her snagging anything. Setting up an uncrackable security system was one thing, but detecting a master thief at work with his bare eyes? Tony got the feeling that it would be a touch more tricky. Unless Felicia wanted him to notice. And who knew? Maybe she would.

Tony let Felicia crawl up and settle against him. He put his free arm around her and took another sip from his glass, noting that he'd soon need a refill. "What you needed? Oh, you didn't really think that I was doing all of this for you, did you?" He arched a brow upward and flashed Felicia the tiniest hint of a smirk. "I'm not telling. But feel free to guess."

She was more relaxed, by far in fact. Just being out of there, away from the drama that Kaine had thrown up around her and everyone deciding he was fine and totally deserved a second chance. He didn't. Not even a little bit. She would never trust him again but she couldn't say that about everyone else. Bar of course the guy that had swooped in and taken her away on a private jet for a holiday. He'd seen that she needed out, just for a little while and for the first time in a long while she was willing to just relax around another person, just be who she was. It was easy with Tony, and she was never really sure why.

God, feelings. She'd never expected feelings, but they were there, jealousy for Pepper and any woman he flirted with, going from casual to not so much without even noticing. He had managed to swagger his way into her heart and set up shop and of all things she'd never expected it from him. Taking her chance to act on those feelings, Felicia snuck a quick kiss as he put his arm around her and reveled in how normal it was. Weirdly normal and she didn't know what to do with it, but she wasn't about to deny she kind of liked it.

"I would, not gonna lie. And you should see me work, I'm pretty damn amazing. I just wonder how much of the Avenger in you would be making disapproving noises. Would you join in or decide I needed to be brought to justice?!" If he even noticed of course, she was good. Better than anyone else, and definitely better than the lameass DC her. But whatever. Ego was something the two shared. "And I'm gonna crack your security babe. It'll happen. And be amazing. And I'll laugh."

She returned the smirk when he decided to mess with her, "Why else would you do it unless you had something to gain. Though if you're honest, keeping me happy definitely gains you something doesn't it? I expect to be wined and dined, and to see all sorts of fun sights that actually streach beyond the hotel room. You know, a holiday!"
