She seemed much more relaxed now that they were clear of Lawrence. Tony wasn't really surprised by that. Peter Parker clone or not, Lawrence was the type of place most people would be relieved to avoid if they knew what really went on there. What did surprise him was that more people didn't take off from the place whenever they could. And the most shocking thing of all? Was that a lot of the people who fell through the seal willingly chose to live in the same city they were dropped in. The overall assumption would have been that those people were either really courageous, really stupid, or really goddamn crazy, but Tony tried to avoid judging them openly. Why? Because he had decided to stick around too.
But not today. Nope, today Tony was doing something far more satisfying than sitting around a hell infested city to wait on the apocalypse. Today he was with Felicia Hardy, who Tony was more than pleased to be with. He didn't often talk about it, but Felicia made him feel things that he wasn't used to feeling when he was around a woman. She was fun, yes, and of course she was great in bed, but that wasn't where the feelings ended. They were supposed to, but they didn't and he found that he was oddly very okay with that.
Tony thought that maybe Felicia was actually oddly okay with that too. Maybe.
"You'd turn down your job if I took you to those museums," Tony declared confidently. She would. How could the ultimate cat burglar miss out on the chance to paw her way around a set of fancy European museums? It would have been an interesting enough experience with Black Cat doing what Black Cat did best, while Tony played the pointedly oblivious card in the background. He couldn't help but wonder if he would even notice her snagging anything. Setting up an uncrackable security system was one thing, but detecting a master thief at work with his bare eyes? Tony got the feeling that it would be a touch more tricky. Unless Felicia wanted him to notice. And who knew? Maybe she would.
Tony let Felicia crawl up and settle against him. He put his free arm around her and took another sip from his glass, noting that he'd soon need a refill. "What you needed? Oh, you didn't really think that I was doing all of this for you, did you?" He arched a brow upward and flashed Felicia the tiniest hint of a smirk. "I'm not telling. But feel free to guess."
