Who: Rory and future!River
What: A father-daughter reunion, Who style!
When: After this
Where: Rory's room in the TARDIS
Warning: Um...I honestly have no idea, but most likely low? Mentions of bad future, possibly some language, but that should be the worst?
After spending some time with Althea and trying to get her to at least calm down just a little, River finally managed to get her to sleep. Of course, River knew this was only temporary, but she took this brief respite as a small victory. After all, she knew how Althea could get, and now with all these consistently changing timelines suddenly present, River knew it would wreak all kinds of havoc on the girl. River could understand the laws of time and how they would affect Althea. She'd seen it with Sexy when she'd been alive. And given the fact that the others from their future, other than Elizaveta, were here, it fell to River to do everything she could to help Althea, to keep her as calm as could be and keep her from sacrificing herself. It was, of course, more than enough to give her a headache, but as she left Althea's room to let her rest, River was glad she was here for Althea. It was painfully clear Althea needed her, and River would protect her at all costs.
Rubbing her forehead and taking a deep breath, River decided to seek out Rory. It was strange to her to see him again, but at the same time, she was so very glad for that. He always had a calming effect on her. Wasn't that precisely why all those years ago during the whole thing with the Silence, she'd had a heart-to-heart with him about her fear of the Doctor one day not knowing who she was? The memory of that talk made her smile faintly. It had been a painful time, as were most times in her life from after Demon's Run. She'd had to keep so many secrets from the Doctor and her own parents, and it had broken her heart. And, in the end, she'd been proven right. The day the Doctor hadn't known who she was was the day she died. It still struck her as ironic that she died two deaths for the Doctor. The first was giving up all of her remaining regenerations to save Eleven, and then connecting herself to the computer harddrive to save all those people in the Library, which had resulted in her death.
But in times of need, all girls turned to their fathers. Even if River was quite a bit older than Rory right now, he was still her father. And she needed him. It had been far too long since she'd admitted to herself that she needed someone. But right now, she was admitting it. For as large as the TARDIS was inside, it didn't take very long for her to find Rory. She'd decided to check the room he and Amy had had, and that's where she found him. Being polite, River knocked and waited for him to invite her in. There was no fear of her walking in on something she didn't want to see as her mother wasn't here, but she still opted for manners. This was her father, after all, and she respected him.
