Who Tony and Ziva
What Tony needs to poke Ziva to make sure she's real. And everyone loves a drugged Israeli Ninja.
Where Complex Medbay
When Late afternoon of the 15
Rating/Status Should be low/In Progress

It had taken a few hours (hours without the aid of some oh so nice alcohol) but Tony had finally come to terms with the fact that this wasn't his world. It was hard to believe. He had no doubt McGee would love this brave new world but Tony wasn't so sure yet. After all, Biblical Seal of Doom type thing pulling people from things he had grown up believing were fictional. And seriously, what was up with this world not having Abby's Caf-Pow? What was he suppose to bribe her with now? Well there was always Goth jewelry but still, principle of the matter.

But after Abby had gotten him from the park, he had demanded on seeing Ziva... after getting some sleep. He had to make sure she was really real. Because it had been months since he had last heard from her. And she had told him on that one case with the head in the trunk that she'd never be taken alive. So he had to make sure she was real. Otherwise he was officially going crazy and was going to find Gibbs so he could get smacked upside the head and clear all this crazy up.

Letting a breath out, he slipped into the medbay and spotted the Mossad officer after a quick look around. Looking like hell. And death warmed over. After getting hit by a truck. Holding the Get Well Soon balloon he had picked up on his way, he sauntered over to her bedside and gently poked her shoulder, hoping she wouldn't try to kill him with an IV needle or a bed pan or something.

"And how is my favorite Israeli Ninja today?"

Ziva was confused by seeing Tony on the boards. Then again, given that Rory had upped her pain medication, she was also convinced that maybe she had just hallucinated it. Because the Seal didn't bring people you wanted here. It wouldn't have brought her team here. Or even one of them from her team. It should have brought Gibbs. Gibbs could headslap Lucifer and this would all be over. At least that was the theory? Eh, it was a hyped up on pain medication theory but it was a theory all the same. But no matter. This wasn't happening because the mop!Team was still there and Tony wasn't there.

Having been asleep, the second she felt a finger poking her shoulder, Ziva's arm snapped up and grabbed the offending hand. She would have squeezed it to break it but she was currently weakened from the whole torture three and a half weeks ago thing and on pain medication so that really wasn't in her cards. But then she heard Tony's voice and she let go of the hand. Okay. So this wasn't a threat on her life. That worked.

Opening her eyes, the Israeli woman winced as she forced herself to sit up, eying Tony critically as if to make sure he was there.

"Tony.... "

She didn't really know what to say or how to react. Her head was so incredibly fuzzy. She wasn't certain that this was even really happening, truthfully. Because for all she knew, it was a dream brought on by pain and medication. It certainly wouldn't be the first time something like that happened.

Tony tried to helped Ziva sit more comfortably as she moved. She really did look terrible. "That's my name last time I checked. Unless I'm going completely crazy of course." He smiled some. "You look like hell." He pulled a chair over and plopped himself down in the chair.

"So, Abby said you were working some case and got all captured. Where the hell was your back up?"

Tony was more pissed about that than anything. He wished he had been there. He should have been there. But there was little he could do about it. All he could do was move on and help Ziva recover. After all, if her weak attempt at trying to break her hand was any indication, she was definitely doped up on a lot of pain meds.

"And I thought you had a whole rule about never being captured alive."

"Thanks."

The comment was dripping with sarcasm as Ziva shot Tony an annoyed look, but he was acting very much like himself, so that probably meant that Tony was in fact really there and not just a figment of her drugged up mind. That was oddly comforting. It was strange, when Tony had shown up in Israel, she had been so upset that he had gone and done that. He shouldn't have. Oh, she had made her peace with him, had apologized for not trusting him and being here for... a year? Ziva wasn't positive anymore, it had given her time to move on from what had happened with Rivkin, what had happened in Somalia. Maybe not at the moment given what she was going through here, but still.

"Idiot back up. He wasn't my usual partner who got put on desk duty.... But the agent was... I don't know. Everything got furry before I could see what took him out. He'd been there just... not able to help...."

Shrugging weakly, Ziva winced and scowled in annoyance.

"Pretty certain Booth yelled at him by now...."

Because Booth was like that. She knew he had hated being on desk duty but it seemed that her getting captured and him finding her had given him the permission he needed to not be on desk duty anymore. And then there was the comment on not getting captured alive.

"Apparently that is not something I can control as much as I'd like...." Given this was the second time it had happened, "Still... I managed to kill at least one and the other was injured if not dead as well." True it had taken a week and she'd been tortured and stabbed in the stomach with a two by four in the process, but she still did manage to take the two serial killers down in some capacity.

And there was the sarcastic Ziva reply. He grinned wider. She really was real. This was definitely going to be a good day. Least he hoped so. So far it was. And then he heard the comment about everything going furry on her and he quirked a brow.

"Fuzzy Ziva. Everything went fuzzy. Furry is...well...something covered in fur...or a person who enjoys dressing up as an animal to get lucky." It felt nice to fall back on his old habits of correcting Ziva's English grammar. Though this could also be a case of her being high on pain medication. Still, it was amusing and he had missed it.

"Booth? And who exactly is Booth?" Tony did his best to hide the bit of jealousy that crept into his voice in hearing about Ziva having another partner. "And leave it to my favorite Israeli Ninja to kill a serial killer or two while being captured." He smiled though it grew somber.

"....I missed you Ziva."

"Fur is fuzzy." It was the same argument Ziva had used in regards to nails being the same as screwed so why couldn't the phrase be we are nailed? Still, it was nice to have Tony there and being so very Tony like. True, Booth had picked up on the game of correcting Ziva's English in amusement. It just felt different. She couldn't say why but it did.

"Booth is my normal partner... I think he commented at you? Grumpy FBI agent? Yes. Abby and I currently work for the FBI, but it is not like they have NCIS in Kansas."

It had taken some adjustment and Ziva knew that if the Seal dropped Gibbs on them, he'd never let them live it down, but they were still helping people. Then again, the Seal might actually fear Gibbs and that was why he hadn't shown up. Ziva would believe it, that much was certain.

"I missed you, too, Tony."

And that said it all. Yes, she had missed Tony while captured in Somalia but things were still being worked on back home but being here for so long, she had found that she missed Tony's annoying antics and his movie references.

Cue Ziva defending her butchered English idioms. Tony chuckled some and tied the string of the balloon to the side of Ziva's bed. "Fur is fuzzy, but that's still not the right phrasing Ziva." He listened as Ziva explained who Booth was. "Ah, that guy." A grin formed on Tony's face again. "He seems to know about me. You haven't been telling him our dirty little secrets, have you Ziva?" he teased.

Hearing that Abby and Ziva both had to stoop to working for the FBI, he nodded some. "I understand that. I might see if I can get around to working for them or the local PD perhaps." Perhaps this could be seen as staking a claim on partnership with Ziva, but he and Ziva were partners first and no grumpy FBI agents were going to ruin that. They already had by giving her an incompetant partner to back her up on a serial killer case.

Hearing that she had missed him too gave him a rather pleasant warm fuzzy feeling. "So, Abby tells me this crazy world doesn't even have Caf-Pow. What sort of apocalypse is this anyways?"

Waving her hand dismissively about the phrasing being wrong, Ziva instead focused on the rest of the comment, rolling her eyes as he grinned and teased her.

"I do not kiss and tell, Tony." Smirking slightly though it really didn't have that much of an effect given the whole still recovering from spending a week being tortured thing, Ziva just rested against her pillows, and quirked a brow when he mentioned potentially working for the FBI or local PD. If he tried for the FBI, that could get interesting. It had taken Booth a while to get used to having her as his partner given the FBI wouldn't let Dr.Brennan go into the field but she also knew how he viewed his partners. Very protectively. And Tony being Tony...

As such, she simply nodded at the comment and was relieved for the change of topic.

"A very rude one."

Which was true. The Seal had an annoying habit of messing up the lives of people who lived here. Between sending in alternate realities or messing with her partner's head, taking away friends and loved ones and then dumping them back with no memory, the Horseman incident, or the bugs....Really, it was a headache and all anyone could really try to do was make the best of the situation.

"All you can really do is go with it and not let it get to you. Live your life, fight the fight, that sort of thing."

It was really good to hear Ziva's voice again. To fall back on their taunting and teasing of each other. He had taken it for granted before. No more. He was going to cherish every moment of it from this point forward. At her comment, he quirked a brow.

"Really Miss David?" he said as seductively as possible. "I seem to recall you rating my butt a five out of five." Okay, it had been if he shaved it but still! She had clearly seen his backside naked and aside from a few hairs she had liked what she had seen. "And not only that, you told the whole squad room."

Hearing the rest of what she said, he nodded. "Duly noted Ziva. So, did you use a spoon to kill the serial killer?" Oh how he wanted to get his hands on the bastards who had done this to her. Perhaps Abby could help him get away with murder if one was still alive...

Hearing the comment on what she had rated his butt, Ziva just shot him a look.

"I believe I docked three points because it was hairy. Besides... the team back home, we're family... It's different."

And that was all there was to it. Because Ziva was right. The NCIS team was more than just a team, they were a family. Goodness knew that Gibbs was more of a father to her than Eli had ever been. While once she might have been upset by that fact, Ziva really didn't mind it anymore. It was what it was and she wouldn't change it for the world. She would love for the rest of them to show up, but other than that? Well, she couldn't make them show up so there was nothing left to really do about it.

As Tony asked about how she killed the serial killer, Ziva sighed.

"Two by four before it was used on me. Back up knife for the rest."

Because Ziva always carried a knife. Rule #9 in Gibbs' rules, though Ziva had been following that one since she worked for Mossad. And it had saved her life. Had allowed to her get out of that warehouse alive. Still, thinking about it was an unpleasant thing and absently, Ziva's hand reached up and rubbed her neck where the chainsaw had nearly gotten her to decapitate her. That was the worst of it. To be taken alive and nearly decapitated just like her friend back in Israel.

Tony chuckled some. "That was unless I shaved it if I recall. Who's to say I haven't shaved it?" he shot back with an amused grin. And she was right. The team back home was a family. Dysfunctional most of the time, but a family. And really, what family wasn't dysfunctional on some level?

He nodded some. "Always carry a knife. One of the Mossad rules, right? Knives never run out of bullets." He smiled some. "Glad you made it out alive Ziva." He noticed her rubbing her neck and his eyes narrowed slightly. "Don't tell me the bastards tried to behead you." His voice had gone dangerous and all laid back manner dropped from his body language. He did his best to stay calm and ran his hands through his hair.

Oh the team back home was so far from functional but that was beside the point. After all, what other team would travel to Somalia on their own to avenge one of their own who they thought had been killed? Not many, but the NCIS team run by Gibbs? They had done just that. Of course, Tony didn't know that as he was from soon before then but that didn't matter. Because he had gone along with it despite where they had left things off.

"Tony, you do not recognize one of Gibbs' rules? I am shocked. Though yes, I did learn it before I joined NCIS from Mossad."

When Ziva could remember a Gibbs rule while drugged up but Tony couldn't? Well of course she would have to rub it in. What sort of partner would she be if she hadn't? But then he was asking about people trying to behead her and the Israeli woman blinked before she gave a slight nod. If she didn't tell him the details of the case, Abby would as she doubted he'd go to Booth or that Booth would tell him anyway.

"They did. Ritualistic killings. Israeli women tortured for five days and then killed and decapitated, their bodies left at synagogues on Friday mornings before services. But they have been dealt with."

Because it was Ziva and she had refused to let those bastards cut her head off, especially while she was awake. Yes, it left her worse for wear and she was going to be stuck in the med bay for a while despite her protests and wanting to go back to work, but that was beside the point. She had survived. She would deal with this just as she had Somalia. She would be fine. She had to be.

With a roll of his eyes, Tony knew that his favorite Israeli was never going to let him live this down. Unless he could convince a doctor to up her pain meds and then try to pass it off as her being high on drugs? Yet somehow he still doubted Ziva would forget.

"I did recognize it. But like you said, you learned it in Mossad first, not from Gibbs like me. Therefore shouldn't, for you, it be a Mossad rule then a Gibbs rule?" Yes, he was trying to worm his way out of having Ziva rub this in his face. Chance of it succeeding depended. Normal circumstances with a non-drugged Ziva, impossible. An injured drugged filled Ziva? It had a chance. Slight, but a chance all the same.

Hearing about the case, Tony narrowed his eyes ever so slightly. If there was one thing Tony had come to hate in his tenure at NCIS, and even on the local PDs he had been a part of, it was the whole hate crime issue. Yes, he looked like the average American guy who had gone to one of the best universities (in his opinion) ever in the States, but still. Hate led to violence which led to crime which led to deaths most of the time.

"They should have known better than to try and tussle with an actual Israeli badass like you," he said, a bit of fondness in his voice for his partner. "After all, Israeli Kung Fu is legendary." Oh Tony knew the name but saying Krav Maga wasn't as much fun as saying Israeli Kung Fu. Speaking of...

"After all, your Israeli Kung Fu is greater than American Drunken Hatred Boxing." Yes, he was being his goofy self but wasn't laughter considered the best medicine?

"Yes, but I specifically referred to it as Rule #9, which is Gibbs' rule." Of course then there was the comment about how it should technically be a Mossad rule for her and not a Gibbs rule. Which really just went into things that she didn't wish to think about when she had no actual filter thanks to the pain meds she was on. As such she just shrugged before wincing.

"Well, NCIS is my team, not Mossad. Therefore, Gibbs Rule."

That was vague but honest. Tony didn't need to know that she held no loyalty anymore to Mossad, or more importantly, her father. Eli had sent her to Somalia and left her to rot away in that cell. Gibbs? Gibbs had travelled across the world with Tony and McGee to avenge her 'death' and instead rescued her. Oh, they had words about the past, but the truth had come out and they were stronger because of it.

Watching Tony's reaction as she explained the case she'd been working on, Ziva just nodded some.

"They should have. And it is Krav Maga. Still, they did choose the wrong person to kidnap and torture." She just didn't like that it had taken her five days to finally get free. But as they'd had her drugged up the entire time, it was only on that last day when she had gotten her bounds loose enough that she was able to defend herself and keep from dying.

While many would see Tony as a flirtatious, skirt chasing man, he was quite observant. Especially when it involved his team. So to see, and hear, Ziva refer to NCIS as her team and not mention anything else on Mossad, he knew something had happened. What, Tony didn't know and he doubted Ziva would ever tell him. Still, something had happened to make her no longer be so loyal to Mossad.

"Duly noted. NCIS is Ziva's team. Should I tell Mop Gibbs that and smack him over the head for you then?"

Hearing the rest of what she said, he grinned. "And they paid for it. And I know the name is Krav Maga. But Israeli Kung Fu sounds cooler. I'm sure Abbs would back me up on that." Oh Tony had heard the bit about torture. But getting pissed off about it would do Ziva no good. One, she had taken care of the killers. And...that's really all there was to it. Ziva was damn good at her job.

"So, any ideas on how long you're going to be stuck in here? Because I need a guide for this place and I doubt Abby would release me from a constant hug for us to walk around and take in the sights." Not that he minded Abby hugs. Because they were Abby hugs after all and Abby gave the best hugs. And everyone loved Abby.

Well it wasn't as if people would be far off in seeing Tony as a flirtatious skirt chasing man, they just tended to overlook the rest. Which was typical. Usually those who weren't involved with law enforcement and such tended to overlook things. And Tony was very good at coming across in a certain way and not letting people in. They all were, really. Well maybe not McGee or Abby, they were more forthcoming with their feelings, but Gibbs, Tony and herself? Definitely.

"Please, Mop Gibbs would find a way to smack you upright the head for even thinking that you could do so. And Mop Gibbs already knows my feelings on the matter."

Which was true. Ish. Real Gibbs knew at least. Mop Gibbs was just... well, Mop Gibbs.

"They did, yes. And well. Fine. I suppose it sounds cooler but it's still called Krav Maga." Because this was Ziva and she found Tony ridiculous. She had missed the ridiculousness, yes, but he was still ridiculous and very childish. How was it he was fourteen years older than her? Then again, she was the youngest on the team so there was that as well. And then there was the question on how long she was going to be stuck in the med bay.

"I do not know. You'd have to ask Rory or Jess. Rory is usually the one who checks on me, though. He already won't take me off the pain meds, though."

Stating that, Ziva scrunched up her nose. Because she was constantly bugging Rory to take her off the pain meds so she could go back to work. But between him, Jess and Booth, that wasn't happening anytime soon despite having been in the med bay for three and a half weeks.

It was true. Those who weren't observant often didn't bother to get to know the real Tony. And some of the skirt chasing was an act. It made people see him one way and gave him a slight edge in certain things. No matter. Ziva was insulting him that Mop Gibbs could taken on full grown Tony.

"Well, let's just see, shall we?" He rose to his feet and walked over to Mop Gibbs. At least, that had been the plan until he tripped on his shoe lace and stumbled forward. Right into Mop Gibbs which struck him on the back of the head. He quickly straightened and glared first at the mop, then at Ziva as if she had used some secret Israeli voodoo or something to make the mop do that.

Turning his eyes to Mop McGee, he reached over and smacked it. "Shut it Probie," he ordered, wisely returning to his chair so he could tie the offending shoe lace.

"Well, you do look terrible if you want me to be nice and honest. And I think the pain meds are a wise choice if you were tortured for several days." Yes, Tony was hopping on the "Keep Ziva Drugged" bandwagon until she was more healed.

Ziva usually just ignored the skirt chasing as she knew that it was never anything serious. There had been the time with Jeanne, where Tony was actually maturing and she thought that he might grow up some, but then he went back to his old ways, just with less heart. It had been strange to watch. But it was also proof that the skirt chasing was partially an act. Ziva just knew better than to outright call him on it. Breaking the illusion would not be a wise choice. She had made her comment on thinking Tony had finally matured and was ready for a real woman, but beyond that, she let it slide.

Quirking a brow as Tony went over to Mop Gibbs, Ziva then smirked as her prophecy came true in regards to Mop Gibbs smacking him upright the head and then Tony telling Mop McGee to shut it.

"See, I told you."

Oh, this was so going to be brought up at a later date. She'd find a way to remember it. But as she'd been on pain meds for three and a half weeks now, she was better adjusting to them, even if she couldn't really type still and sometimes got confused.

"Are you always so charming or is it just me?" The comment was deadpanned as the Israeli woman looked to her partner in annoyance at him saying that she looked terrible. She knew he was right of course, but still.

"Yes, you and Rory and Jess and Booth all say the same. It's very...." and she couldn't think of the word she wanted. So instead Ziva scrunched up her nose and made a disgruntled sound and crossed her arms. She was so sick of staying stuck in the medbay.

He rolled his eyes at her comment of gloating about being right about Mop Gibbs. Stupid know it all Israeli Ninja. Oh well. He enjoyed their taunting and retorting. It was almost like flirting in a way. He enjoyed it immensely. Even if he usually lost their verbal fights. Still, he had a few wins under his belt. Not many but a few.

Smirking at her retort on his comment, he shrugged. "It's just you darling Ziva," he drawled, grinning. "And you know we're right. You need to rest to recover." He put a charming grin on and put his chin on his hand.

"I could always tie you to my bed to make you more comfortable," he teased, giving her a wink.

"And who says that I'd let you tie me up? I'm pretty certain you'd be the one tied up."

Well, it was Tony and Ziva. It wouldn't be a normal day if there weren't sexual innuendo going on between them. It was strange. They had been more reserved following Somalia, Ziva trying to learn to trust him again, him walking on egg shells around her. But he hadn't gone through all of that. He knew he had lost her trust because of Rivkin. Had thought her dead. Yet the had fallen back into this routine so easily. It was very strange. Comforting, but strange. After all, Ziva had moved on, had learned she could still trust Tony and had missed him. But Tony hadn't gotten that.

Too much thinking. Her head hurt and was fuzzy and the pain meds were making it worse. Probably because she'd been forcing herself to stay up as opposed to sleeping whenever the mood struck. Still, she probably should go to sleep eventually. There was only so much fighting one could do against pain meds before it was a losing battle. Ziva may be stubborn but even she had her limits.

"But right right, resting and all that other boring stuff."

Yes. Resting was boring. Ziva would much prefer being out there fighting criminals or dealing with Seal drama. At least she wasn't stuck in a bed staring at the ceiling because it still hurt too much to move thanks to the two by four stabbing her in the stomach.

That...really shouldn't have been as seductive at he heard it what with Ziva being all doped up on pain meds and looking like crap. But even in her current appearance, Tony appreciated how beautiful she was. Oh he knew he had to earn her trust back after the things he'd done, but it seemed this Ziva had already forgiven him of that. Still, he really should apologize for that. He'd do it when she was more coherent. That would be a better time to do it.

Hearing the comment about it being boring, he grinned a little. "So, should I find ways of keeping you entertained then? I could ask you how many ways you could kill me with a piece of paper after all."

He grinned a bit. She did after all know of eighteen ways to kill a person with a paperclip. Who knew what else she could kill someone with and in how many different ways. "So, Ziva, who exactly do I need to talk to about joining the FBI? Obviously there's a whole need for forged papers saying I exist and all that and I'm sure there's someone here who can do all that." After all, how else would Ziva be working for the FBI?

Well, Tony had a funny way of showing it. Then again, the two always flirted so Ziva thought nothing of it, didn't think it really meant anything to the senior field agent. But she was bored. And so she merely shrugged before wincing at the movement. But it was better than moving her lower torso. That would be ridiculously painful and not something the Mossad officer turned NCIS agent turned FBI agent wanted to deal with. So when Tony said something about killing with paper, Ziva just automatically had to respond.

"Single sheet, rod, construction, printer?"

After all, there were plenty of different kinds of paper that had to be taken into consideration. And that would then affect the number of ways possible. Yes. Ziva did take these things into consideration. But then Tony was asking about getting into the FBI and the Israeli woman looked to her partner.

"Depends. Booth handles all the FBI paper work. Connor Temple can put your information into systems and Sam Winchester usually handles identification."

Yes, there was a hierarchy here of how to deal with such matters. True, Booth hadn't really helped with her and she just ended up as his partner but he had gotten her into the FBI, it just then ended up that their higher ups wanted her to partner with him, which in the end, worked out for the best given they both knew the crazy at hand and could cover for one another easier.

That was something Tony needed to think about. Seriously, who would have though there were so many different kinds of paper in the world? Well, aside from Ziva. But he decided to go with the flimsiest of the paper choices. "Loose leaf sheet." Now to be hopefully impressed by the ways of which one Israeli would kill a person with it. If it was possible.

Tony nodded some as his question about the FBI was answered. So, he needed to get in touch with this Connor guy and Sam then convince Booth to help him out with the FBI. Should be easy. He hoped.
