When:tonight
Where:their house.
warnings:TBA but I don't forsee any~

Since Elena left Anakin had been fairly quiet. Not that he'd ever been very loud unless it was an unpleasant discussion with Jacen or Jaina that he disapproved of. Other then that he'd gotten his mothers quietness and his father's mind for flight and machines. Quietness however did not mean shy in his case. Curious was more like it. A little worried even. Luke had been so injured and his skills really didn't lie in the healing Force. He'd always believed the Force to be a weapon. A tool for the Jedi. These days however he was re-thinking his stance on the healing and wishing he could go back to the Academy to learn. He hadn't been to the Academy since dying, he wondered how it had changed. Having Luke in their home brought back memories. Some fond, others causing a knot of worry to twist into his presence as he leaned outside of Luke's room and watched him through a cracked door. He'd been doing that on and off again through the night like a fidgeting cat checking out a new family member. Blue eyes peering in curiously at his Uncle.

He was different then the last. His Force presence was calmer despite the injuries he'd obtained. Anakin felt more comfortable with him. He wondered just where Luke was at with his Force training. Closing his eyes for a minute as he leaned away from the cracked door and against the wall Anakin folded his arms uncomfortably. Jacen just had to mention Aunt Mara. Sometimes he wondered if he was adopted and really storks were his parents. How could someone lack so much tact? His thoughts were interrupted by a cat twisting its body around his ankles. He knelt down in that hallway to pet the cat who leaned contently into his hand. Anakin sighed and looked back up at Luke's room. How long would the healing process take? If Tahiri was there it would have gone faster. They would have been able to do it in a couple of hours or perhaps days rather then a week. They were each individually gifted Jedi, but together they were better. Tahiri brought out the best in him. He missed her.

He had the painting that was given to him of them up in his room. He often caught himself watching it and wondering if she was back in a better place, or if she'd returned to the horrible future she'd told him of. He hopped for the first. His eyes wandered toward Luke's room again as he couldn't help but spy curiously on his uncle, much like the kitten that lurked around his bare feet.

Leia knew enough about the future to know that the Mara comment really wasn't that wise of Jacen to mention where others could see. She understood the purpose, to measure time, but really, he should have foreseen that outcome. Though it wasn't as though Han were exactly known for his tact so it could be said that he got his tact from his father. Still, it wasn't something Leia was about to get herself involved in. It had taken long enough for Jacen to stop being so antagonistic towards her, and strange as it was to have a family here with memories she didn't have, strange enough that there was no Rebel Alliance, Leia would prefer to keep the peace as much as possible within the family unit even as she struggled to deal with the whole normal routine aspect of life.

Entering the living room, Leia just quirked a brow as she watched Anakin and his observing of Luke. She had noticed since his arrival that the teen had been more quiet than usual, and it didn't just tie into Luke's return. Despite her lack of presence on the boards most of the time, Leia had managed to surmise that Anakin's friend had been sent back to her own world. Which meant Anakin had lost two people he cared about to the Seal and it's flinging of people back and forth between worlds.

As the cat noticed Leia's presence, the young woman knelt down and picked her up, stroking the fur gently as she stood up.

"How long today?"

Really, this was quite common, coming in and finding Anakin spying on Luke. Which was better than the bickering that usually happened between Han and Luke. But what could she really expect on that front? It was amusing, though. She knew that no harm would come from it, and she knew that Luke sometimes made a game out of it, so really, if it helped one or both of them, who was she to judge?

Jacen and Jaina had always been the more talkative siblings. Anakin found that without a twin he was left mostly to his own devices. Sometimes that meant literally. Tinkering with machinery came as natural to him as breathing did to others. Lately he found himself spending more and more time alone again without Elena to keep him occupied. He wasn't really a social butterfly despite being the nephew of Luke Skywalker. Back home that meant people would often stare at him curiously. He was the Jedi's hope, the one rumored to possibly one day take Luke Skywalker's place of the Academy.

In Kansas he was just another face in the crowd. He wasn't sure if that was supposed to be a good thing or bad, but on the surface it didn't seem to change him much save for his new quieter outlook on life. Anakin watched Luke despite the presence of his mother. He had always been curious. Even at the Academy he often ventured away from the safety of the temple walls. This was just like another adventure, a new Luke. It meant new possibilities. Would this Luke hide away in his room or would he assist in the apocalypse prevention? Judging just based on the new more welcoming feeling Anakin got hovering near his Uncle's room he felt like it would be the latter and it caused the boy to relax some.

"An hour." He responded quietly to his mother's question and blinked as he felt the nudge from Luke, peering in at him again innocently. Pushing some of his soft dark bangs away from his eyes he gave a faint smirk and reached out to nudge him back with the Force. Poking him a little and hiding against the wall again and looked at Leia.

"Maybe this time will be different." He stated, showing a little more confidence then he had the last few days.

This time around, Luke would definitely be the helping type. That is, once he was healed enough to exert himself. Right now, walking the short distance to the living room and the bathroom was about as much as he could take. But he was getting better day by day. But until he was physically ready to get in on the fighting, he would contribute mentally. He could still help plan tactics if needed, he just wasn't yet ready to fight.

As he laid there, he heard Leia's voice and Anakin's soft response. His nephew did intrigue him. The boy was quiet, but he didn't mind that. No doubt Anakin was bright. Leia's child could be no less in that respect. He smiled gently then shifted slowly on the bed, moving to an upright position. It took him a minute to get to said upright position so he didn't aggravate anything, but once he made it, he sat there on the edge of his bed, glancing over to his open door.

"You don't need to hover outside the door, you know. You can come in," Luke invited both Anakin and Leia. Not to mention he had said so to Anakin before, but it was undoubtedly just a matter of Anakin getting used to Luke being there. He had no memory of having been there before, but he knew it would undoubtedly take a little time for the boy to adjust just as it would take him time to adjust to the family he had there. It was certainly a lot like having an instant family, but Luke was okay with this. Well, he was uneasy with Jacen, but that sort of went without saying. Even without knowing who this Mara was, Luke could sense Jacen's Force presence was darker, more intense than the others he felt. It unnerved him a little, but he wasn't going to dwell on that. Instead, he was going to focus on the nephew that liked hovering outside the door of his room.

Leia was thankful for the confidence that had returned to Anakin. Oh, it wasn't much, but it was something. But he'd lost another friend to the Seal so it made sense to her. Hopefully it would bring someone through for Anakin to befriend. She'd hope for Tahiri, but given she could come from a point where she'd been manipulated by Jacen? That was a bit more troublesome, a bit more worrisome. After all, who knew how Anakin would respond to that. At least with Elena, she didn't have that strong a connection to Anakin so if she showed up from a different point, it wouldn't be devastating to the teen. It was a tricky situation to be in, but Leia could at least hope.

And then Luke was calling out to both of them and all Leia could do was smirk slightly. Really, this wasn't that uncommon. It was just a matter of time before Luke got tired of poking at Anakin with the Force and just had both of them enter his room. Or Anakin alone had Leia not been there. Still, as she was, she would indeed go in as well. Nodding to the teen, Leia started to the door and pushed it open before entering Luke's room and leaning against the wall. Really, how many times had the two been in a situation like this? Luke injured, Leia standing with him, leaning against a wall.

"How are you feeling?"

Well, someone had to ask. True, neither she nor Anakin were the most skilled with the healing, they were at least learning as they helped Luke. And there was always tea. Tea was good for helping the healing process as well. At least it was to Leia. Nor was it as if Leia didn't have enough tea to last awhile following Christmas.

Anakin knew that Luke was aware he was there, but still he had a hard time actually going beyond the doorway and Force. When Luke called to them he peered around the corner with his mother. He had Luke's blue eyes, but a quiet nature that reflected Leia's own. He was just fine being alone as far as friends went. He had Jacen and Jaina. It reminded him a lot of when he grew up on Coruscant. Back then his only friends were he twins and the droid See Threepio.

He was very smart. At the age of five he was able to take apart computers and solve difficult word puzzles with his mind. His favorite types of puzzles were machines, he considered them like puzzles. Pulling them apart and figuring out how to put them back together was fun for him. With Elena's disappearance he found himself tinkering with things again. Not very concerned with making new friends like most boys his age might have been. No, Anakin had to feel useful and without her it was like he was unsure of how to regain that usefulness.

The healing of Luke had helped some, but still the art of healing was not his favorite thing to focus on. He'd always believed that the Force was a weapon for the Jedi and put more attention on that aspect of it.

Being around Luke had brought back memories. Bittersweet ones of the Jedi Academy and his first days of training. He remembered arriving on Yavin 4 where his Uncle Luke waited for him in black Jedi Robes and showed him the temple that would be his home while he trained to become a Jedi Knight. He remembered the speech he gave in the Grand Audience Chamber of the Code and just looking at him caused the boy to smile more genuinely and step a little further inside the room. He looked at Luke curiously while his mother spoke. Still he stayed closer to Leia and simply observed.

When Leia and Anakin both stepped into the room, Luke couldn't help but think of the humor in this situation. Once again here he was, injured and recovering and Leia standing there undoubtedly inwardly shaking her head at him for running headlong into trouble. He smiled a bit at the memories. Really, he needed to stop this kind of thing and actually come out of battles unscathed for once. He was a pilot and a Jedi, one would think he could get through one encounter without losing a limb or nearly being killed.

He looked up at Leia as she asked the question. "I'm feeling a little better, stronger. It doesn't hurt as much any more. Perhaps one of these days I can actually make a trip around this house without needing to pause and lean on something or someone." He had an optimistic view which he figured would be beneficial to his healing process. If he thought positively and kept following a strict regimen of not aggravating his injuries and undo the healing both Leia and Anakin were doing on him, then he would recover that much faster. He could make it from his room to the living room okay, but he didn't push his luck yet. There was also the fact Leia would tie him to a chair or his bed if he did push himself too hard. Baby steps were a good thing to take, especially since using the Force to heal was pretty much new to all of them.

Luke then turned his gaze to Anakin, smiling warmly at him. He really liked his nephew. The boy was quiet, reminding him of Leia, and Luke liked that Anakin had a playful side in using the Force to poke at him. Hopefully this relationship they were building would be a beneficial one to them both. Luke had a feeling he could learn a lot from the young Anakin. This Luke was not the Grandmaster that Anakin had known, but he was at the beginning of the path that would lead him to that version of himself. Hopefully he could live up to Anakin's memories of the future him.

"How are you, Anakin?"

Oh, Leia was definitely shaking her head at Luke internally. He had gone straight to the emperor and had expected to walk out unscathed? Was he that idiotic? Yes, she understood that he believed their father to still have good in him and apparently he had as he had saved Luke, but what if that plan hadn't worked out? It was luck that Luke was still alive and that was all there was to it. Just like it was luck he had survived his encounter with Vader when he lost his hand in his attempt to save her and Han. True that had been a point of realizing there was more to them than met the eye, that there was more to her as she had no memory of the energy ball she'd thrown when she was one year old, but still. Reckless.

But as he answered her question, the brunette young woman gave a small nod.

"That's good to hear. I'm sure you will be able to soon."

And she was. She knew he'd be fine. He had to be. She worried of course, but that was to be expected. In the end though, he'd be fine and they could help with this war against the devil. Find a way to help when no one really wished to have any sort of uniformity.
