Ziva knew that Booth did not like her. He seemed wary of her at best, though if it had to do with her being Mossad or the fact that he wanted a different partner who was not technically a field agent, well, that was anyone's guess. It didn't bother the Israeli, she was used to people not liking her or trusting her. Look at how long it had taken her team back in DC to trust her. True, that was partially because of the Kate thing, but still. They had not exactly been hot.. no, warm, towards her. Yes, it was warm. That was the term she'd been looking for. Still, it was a little unsettling. After all, if Booth had answered on the Boards, that meant he was part of this crazy apocalypse mess and shouldn't he be at least a little more understanding? But no matter. Ziva would deal with what she was given. It was how she had been raised. She hadn't survived Somalia to let something as frivolous as her partner's wariness get to her. He would warm up eventually. And it wasn't as if they didn't have one another's backs.
But Booth was dealing with something down at the police station and his, what was it, Squint? Yes, squint. She was busy staring at bones. She truly was a one woman show, much like Abby. Only she had interns, who didn't do much from what Ziva had noticed. But the woman wasn't the most forthcoming either, which was fine. From what Ziva had been able to pick up, she was part of the apocalypse mess as well, and very in tune with science and not so much interpersonal relations. Each person was different and Ziva knew when not to get in the way. So she let Brennan work with the bones and decided to head to the shooting range. At least there things made sense. Yes, there was the case they were working on, but they needed a lead and that was where Brennan and her team came in. For now, it was waiting.
Arriving at the shooting range, Ziva smiled to the owner as she had been coming there recently to work out her frustration. She had seen what was going on through the boards. People had powers swapping and to be honest, she was thankful she wasn't involved with that mess. It would be a headache and a half to deal with such madness when she was just trying to figure out how to get by in this place without Gibbs, or McGee or Tony. She hadn't seen Abby much since getting her job with the FBI and she hoped the energetic forensics specialist found something to do to occupy herself with. Goodness knew that an idle Abby was something that one should be wary of. Even so, Ziva found an open compartment and put on the ear mufflers and pulled out her gun, aiming at the target. This was just what she needed. No distractions. Or so the hope went, at least. Ziva was learning that in this place, anything was possible.
