WHO: Zuko and Azula.
WHAT: Zuko is making tea and the siblings are going to BUTT HEADS!
WHEN: 2/25 Friday late morning/early afternoon!
WHERE: The kitchen!
RATING: PG-13? Mebe!

There was something that Zuko missed more than the familiar atmosphere of home. He missed Uncle. The old man had become a father figure over the years, he had never turned his back on Zuko and had never hurt him like his own father had. Uncle was a patient man that had taught Zuko some of the most important life lessons that he had learned. Uncle had been a constant companion during the banishment that Zuko had lived through. It was difficult to be without him; the Fire Lord had come to rely on the old man's presence. It might be easier to settle in to this place if he had something familiar, something that wasn't his sister. The fact that Azula was here was worrisome. She was dangerous and Zuko worried about her being on the loose, but he didn't have a way to keep her from wandering. the best he could do would be to try and monitor what she was doing. Even that he wasn't sure he'd be able to do as of the moment. As far as Zuko was concerned he'd be able to beat her if it came to a fight, but there'd be a great deal of damage to the area around them should it come to that.

Worrying did little to help Zuko's situation. There was something he knew of that would always help and that was tea. Uncle Iroh had taught him how to make teas that would definitely help relax him--or at least it'd be a temporary sort of relief. It was strange here and definitely something that was taking time to get used to. Something that was easier to get used to as of the moment was the food. Zuko had experimented and tried a great deal of these new foods. At this point, Zuko was yearning for something familiar, though. That was what had caused him to end up in the complex kitchen. If there was one thing Zuko could manage it was making tea even in this place. The tall young man stood in front of the stove, he'd already put the kettle on, now it was just a matter of waiting for it to get to the point that he needed.

Stepping away from the stove, Zuko crossed his arms and mostly out of habit began to pace. there was so much going on here that Zuko hadn't quite gotten caught up yet. He needed to do so. His path lead him back and forth in front of the stove. It wouldn't make anything happen faster, but at the same time if Zuko didn't have his duties to occupy his mind, then he needed something to occupy his body. This would do for the moment. His brow was furrowed in what might be his trademark brooding face. The scar on his face, as it always did, was a stark contrast against the rest of his skin. Zuko understood it could be startling to many who saw him for the first time, but over time he had grown used to it. He no longer saw the scar as something shameful.

It didn't even occur to him that someone else might wander into the kitchen. He was too lost in his thoughts at the moment.

Zuko had once been someone that didn't believe in the calming affects of tea. Once he had scorned Uncle for acting so ridiculous, in his opinion. At that time Zuko had been so concerned with finding the Avatar. It had been his sole concern in life. It had left him severely unfulfilled. He'd been so driven, so angry, he had been fueled by anger. It wasn't a time that he could look back on and remember fondly. Zuko was ashamed of his behavior at that time. He was ashamed at how he had betrayed his Uncle and sided with his sister. The only good result had been that he had come to his senses. His sister didn't care about anyone other than herself. She was manipulative and all that mattered to her was power. She didn't have a nice bone in her body. That was why Zuko wouldn't make the same mistake twice. The Fire Lord was many things, but stupid was not one of them.

The older brother couldn't help but be surprised at his sister's answer to the question. Te was something that Uncle had been big on; Zuko didn't even know that his sister drank tea. "I'm making Uncle's favorite." Zuko stated evenly before he retrieved the both of them cups for when the tea was ready. As she spoke again, his eyes went to her. "It's hard to sit for tea with someone that was banished." Zuko pointed out, taking on, "And then I left, so there was hardly a chance." He was pretty sure that she never would have wanted to sit for tea, anyway. "It's good for a number of purposes." If she wanted to make small talk, Zuko could make small talk. He didn't trust his sister in the least, though. "At the moment we're alone from our world. From what I've gathered others could show up at random, though I wouldn't wish it on anyone." He chose not to comment on the two of them being siblings. Azula had never acted like a sister in her life that he could remember.

Hearing the shrill whistle of the kettle, Zuko moved to turn off the stove, and rather fluidly and quickly he had the both of them tea made. It was a short trip, transporting their tea to the table, but he sat both down before he forced himself to sit. Automatically, he picked his cup up and blew on it, taking in the aroma. "What is it exactly that normal siblings do?" Zuko asked before taking a light sip of his tea. He didn't even think his little sister knew the answer to this question. The question made him think of Sokka and Katara. The two always bickered, but there had been genuine love between the two siblings. Sokka had felt the need to look after Katara. Zuko didn't feel any of those same things toward his own sister. Idly he wondered if this were such a bad thing after their history.

Azula knew she wasn't trusted. Of course she did, Zuzu wasn't stupid, he had to know she'd betray him soon as look at him. But here, in this place she needed her brother. For now at least and for that she would take his distrust and his jibes about it being that weak man's favourite kind of tea. Zuko would always jibe at her, always try to prod her into attacking him or something. One way or the other. He was wary. And he was probably still very mad at her for the whole Agni Kai thing. Well if he hadn't brought his pet water peasent to the fight then maybe he wouldn't have to be so mad at her. "Well Uncle did know his tea I suppose so his word must be trusted on it. I suppose he needed something to fill his head with after he was such a failure in the greater war." she said, she hadn't said it to be snide it was just a fact. He had been a failure.

Azula was so used to lies, but it was hard to lie to someone who knew her as well as her brother did. This sibling bond she'd heard so much about simply didn't with her. The doctors at his blasted facility had said she was mad. Had said she didn't form relationships like other people did. Normal people. But who were they to judge her. "You left, I left, we both returned, we fought, you cheated, you won, you locked me away. When were we ever to have time for something so simple as tea." she told him matter of factly. "They would give me some to drink sometimes. One or two of your guards, not loyal to me or anything but just...I believe they...ugh...pitied me. I would have burned them alive if they'd ever let their guard down. Pity is a weakness Zuzu, remember that."

He wouldn't wish this world on anyone, or her company. It could easily have been both with her brother.

She watched him busy himself with making the tea while she thought about what he'd said. It was a fair point. What did normal siblings do? "Well I expect they talk sometimes, go to parties together which we did once, do you remember? When we discovered why Mai was so angry and annoying all the time and why Ty Lee was so ridiculous. And you..." she trailed off, fighting the smirk that came to her so easily at the memory of his ridiculous little outburst back them. "I think we're supposed to help each other and be there for each other. Things like that, should we try it?" she queried, sipping the tea as she wondered could they ever be normal siblings. Or if she even wanted to be.
