It starts with a man cooking his breakfast. It's Sunday, he thinks. It must be Sunday, because it was Saturday yesterday, and even though he can't seem to remember yesterday finishing, the sun is slung low in the sky of a new morning. His head hurts, and the memory loss is slightly disorientating, but he is hungry, and soon his wife and child will be awake and eating with him and he will put this discomfort aside. Sure enough, his wife enters the kitchen. He drops his frying pan from the surprise of her scream. It's Tuesday, not Sunday. It's a year after his death.

Reoccurrence is an alternate universe Harry Potter roleplay set in 2005, seven years after the second war. It takes inspiration from French drama, Les Revenants, and BBC's In The Flesh. It asks the question: what would the wizarding world look like if the people we thought were gone returned one day?

Premise

Governor Denning of Hawaii is simply baffled by the influx of people from all over time and space. Even more baffling is the fact that no one can seem to leave the Hawaiian islands at all. It doesn't seem to make any sense but when someone swims out far enough, it's like there is a barrier around all of the islands. Paradise has suddenly become a prison. How will everyone get by? Even stranger still, planes can fly in and drop off supplies and such. And no one knows what happens to them after that.

New faces are popping up all over, and as beautiful as Hawaii is, sometimes the locals aren't so friendly. Many of them consider the land to be sacred and want newcomers to stay away. And what is with these new people anyway? Some of them just aren't normal...

The governor enlisted the 5-0 taskforce to be responsible for the newcomers, getting them settled in and helping them become productive members of the community. Some will be more helpful than others. Governor Denning purchased an apartment building in the Waikiki neighborhood on O'ahu so everyone has a place to stay, while the matter is sorted.

Investigations into what caused this phenomena are ongoing. But it looks like we've got to try to be one big Ohana.

welcome to your new home...
you arrive in the lobby of a grand hotel - the crown plaza. how you got here is a mystery; perhaps you fell asleep and awoke to find yourself dozing in a comfy chair in the lobby, or perhaps you walked through a door only to find yourself in the lobby. it's really up to you. on your arrival, a phone on the check-in desk rings...and rings... and rings, until eventually, you pick it up. a polite, but distant, voice welcomes you and asks that you check-in using the laptop beside the phone. once the form is completed you are assigned a room, and at the same moment clocks throughout the hotel begin to chime, signifying your arrival.
