An AU X-Men RPG Everything changes. The nature of the existence of anything that lives is to change. Humans have been evolving since before they thought to label themselves. And, as happens with evolution, there have been outliers; strange twists to the code. Over the generations these aberrations have been called many things: witches, monsters, legends. Mutants. They have become the thing that goes bump in the night, what hides under the bed, all those stories parents use to keep their children from going into the woods alone. But they're real. It is a world where most governments, long scared of the possibilities, do what they can to keep the general population vaccinated to the point where manifestations are rare. Despite the efforts to keep the stories of things that go bump in the night as nothing but stories, there are those who know the truth. They have been brought together under the direction of Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr, and have worked hard to learn about their own powers. Keeping to the shadows, they are slowly but steadily working to change the machinations of the world in order to protect their fellow mutants. They are the X-Men. They have seen many strange things, but perhaps nothing so strange as a rend in the fabric of dimensions; a rend that will bring all manner of other versions of themselves into their world. Different faces, different voices, different pasts but the same person. Is a world that cannot even face its own inevitable change ready for the next step? Are a group of heroes doing everything they can to save their race prepared to see their twisted reflections?
