It's been almost 15 years since the Battle of Hogwarts, and while all has not been completely peaceful in the Wizarding World, people have gotten on with things. Life. They've forged careers and built families, lived through political reformation after reformation, and the memory of Voldemort's reign has dimmed among the general public. Nothing has been forgotten, but life has a way of moving forward even if people want to live in the past. Those who are smart move with time, and those who are not stay lost in the past. At the center of it all has always been Diagon Alley, guarded from the mundane world by the Leaky Cauldron. At one point or another, every witch and wizard has walked through the Cauldron, their lives a fleeting impression on the old walls. Secrets and lies, hopes and dreams, lives and deaths--everything has a connection to the Leaky Cauldron. Come on in and have a pint. Leaky Cauldron is a mainly social game with a focus on threading, set in the present. There will be game-wide plots and challenges to keep the game moving forward, but no long-term "dark" or "political" plot is planned at this time. We want to have fun, and explore what our favorite characters are like as actual responsible adults. Rules | Cast & Holds | Apply leakycauldronrp | leakycauldmod | leakycaldronooc |
The Meadowbrook Academy campus is located in a picturesque little pocket of Watertown, New York. Founded in 1930, the school was originally a college preparatory school for boys. In the late 60s, they opened their doors to girls, but don't tell that to the folks who haunt the place. It's a running joke at Meadowbrook, one that was thought to have been started by a few upperclassmen looking to give a few girls a scare. It's an old campus. There are creaks and photos tend to fall off the wall from time to time. It's part of the charms of Meadowbrook, right?
No one has given much thought to the stories until last spring. One of Meadowbrook's seniors was found dead in his room at the end of the term. The official report called it a suicide, but there was something a little fishy about it.
There are students around Meadowbrook that seem to be a fixture in the place. No one sees them off campus, and it's as if they've been there forever. It's almost as if most people are oblivious to them. It's like they can choose who sees them.

Imagine a world where all the mythological beings which people have ever believed in are still with us. Immortals, demons, gods and monsters walk amongst us every day. They hide from our view, keeping their world a secret, and yet our stories and belief are what sustains them. From the Machine is a mythology-based roleplaying game. It is set in modern America where figures of mythology, folklore and even history continue to live their lives, hidden among the mortals. Some of these beings are worshipped readily, and they remain strong. For others, belief is fading, and they are growing weak. CURRENTLY SEEKING: Archangels, dead authors, Di Nocti, War (Horseperson of the Apocalypse), MORE FEMALES, and mortals - though we heartily welcome anything that piques your interest! | |||
