Welcome to Millside, Kansas, a city nestled between middle of nowhere and a bunch of cornfields where time seems just as long as lazy as the summer heat. With a population of just over 1,000, everyone knows everyone. From the kid down the street who still rides his bike around to deliver newspapers to the same old waitress that has worked at the main street diner, the new teachers at the local high school to the newborn baby over at the house down on the corner, everyone has some sort of connection. Reunited by the death of a long-time friend, a group of friends find the means to catch up on some old time, check out some old haunts, share some old memories, and even open some old wounds. Welcome back to Millside, Kansas: home, sweet home. |

There is an apartment building in New York called 'Bellum Letale.' Most people ignore its auspicious name, though they would be advised to pay more attention to its meaning.
It is a strange building. It seems to be somehow bigger inside than out, with narrow passageways, intimidating doorways, and lovely corners that disappear and reappear at random. And its occupants are just as strange--from all over the world, from all walks of life, all of their lives have nudged them toward this building as if they were always meant to live there.
This is, of course, because they were. Every man, woman and child in the building is a reincarnated fable, the stories told to human children for hundreds, sometimes thousands of years. Once very real, the fables began to fade as science and reason dispelled the probability of their existence. They have all been reborn in human forms, though their essence remains, waiting to be awakened at the right time, in the right place.
Now is the time--Bellum Letale is the place. As their lives connect and weave together, as they follow their petty desires and chase love, they are, all of them, on the brink of disaster. Not just for them, but for the world at large. This world of science is in need of fables once more, even if the fables themselves do not yet know how much.
Bellum Letale--Lethal War. A premade fairy tale and fable community. Now taking holds and applications. Looking for Christine Daae, Meg Giry, Robin Hood, Sultan, or anyone else, really.
PREMISE Welcome to your new home. Set in crime-ridden Dark City Treno, dominated by alcohol, drugs and weapons, this place is constantly immersed in a perpetual state of darkness. Heavy black clouds loom overhead, sometimes bringing rain but never breaking to let in the sun. The city has evolved to match its environment; business is shady, outlooks are bleak, and it is unclear whether there is still light behind the clouds at all. Even the brightest linings offer little hope. In the corner flower shop, full of carnations and spools of cheap ribbon, black market narcotics and hallucinogens change hands. The local pub, complete with Guinness on tap, reserves the back three tables for weapons dealers to do business. Criminals of all types seem drawn to the city, attracted to the dark environment the city offers. You never know who'll show up. But you do know, we're all family here. HEROES RPG | OC &CANNON FRIENDLY! |
Family. Everyone wants one, but not everyone wants the one they have. Some are born alone in the world, some loose what semblance of a family they have through divorce, death, or distance. But not all families are blood relatives. The most curious types of families that come together because of a common attitude, interest, or goals. They find each other because they need the comforts of family and an ideal that will stick them together when other families would crumble apart. The loyalty and devotion to this new family entity becomes so strong in these cases that outsiders don’t quite understand what’s really going on. After seeing the world around him reject him for what he was, Samuel looked for others like him, others who knew what it was like to be an outcast but no longer wanted that lifestyle for themselves. The family came first, and then the carnival was created so they could live, work, and thrive together. The carnival gave them a way to show off what others found horrifying – their abilities. It isn’t all fun and games though at the carnival – there is hard work and everyone has to do their part, but when you’re family, you do things for others that you might not do on your own. A commitment to this carnival is a commitment to being in the family. It isn’t always easy to join the family, but it’s even harder to leave. Most never want to though, who would give up the chance of a lifetime – to be wanted, needed even, and be able to truly be themselves? | |
