A B O U T

Over 1,000,000,000 people die by suicide worldwide each year. On an average, a person dies by suicide every 40 seconds somewhere in the world. 1.8% of worldwide deaths are suicides, and these rates have increased 60% in the past 45 years. What could bring a person to act like this? Why would they throw their lives away? Were their problems so devastating, death was the only answer?

Most importantly, what happens to these lost souls after the deed is done?

These are their stories. The people who live in an after-life very similar to the real world - only worse. Cities have a impoverish appearance, there are no flowers, and it is impossible to smile. Every single person here has killed themselves. They all have a story. But there is no one around to listen.

PREMISE
1979
A prophecy is foretold: The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches...Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies...And the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not....

1981
Lord Voldemort attempted to attack Godric's Hollow to prevent the prophecy from being fulfilled; but, when the Order was tipped off about his plan, they were able to warn the Potters before Lord Voldemort could get to them. Instead, Lord Voldemort found himself face to face with Albus Dumbledore when he arrived at the village. Lord Voldemort, refusing to lose, lashed out with a violent curse that severely wounded both himself and Dumbledore. But when the attack did not kill the older wizard, the weakened Dark Lord ordered a mysterious lurker to finish off Dumbledore.

With Albus Dumbledore gone, the Wizarding World waited with baited breath for Lord Voldemort to rise to power. Months passed and there was no sign of the Dark Lord's return. Rumors of his death spread like a wildfire and many attempted to gain back what they had lost to fear. Only the Order of the Phoenix remained suspicious and vigilant.

Many have started to regain the lost normalcy in their lives. Nevertheless, unbeknownst to the peace-seeking Wizarding World, a devious plot has been set into motion; one that will tear down the foundation of Wizardry and bring about the second war.

It is the nature of life to cycle. All things go in circles, from the helplessness of infancy to the helplessness of old age, from the role of daughter to mother, son to father. Human events cycle through peace and war over and over again. Hearts are broken and won by turns. Civilizations swell and then recede like tides through human history. Life continues.

Stories, too, cycle. The strongest stories begin with people, who tell them to their children and their grandchildren. Sometimes stories are treasured over wealth, even worshiped as lifelines against the turning confusion of chance. Stories found societies and anchor families. They teach both young and old the value of life. They drive culture and reflect change.

They also live.
People today cling to the real. They worship their own ambition and dismiss the stories of old as dusty, irrelevant pictures of times that no longer matter. Our world is not a world of stories, but a world of cheaply painted scenery and cardboard cutouts of heroes. No one has time for stories anymore.

Yet some people who live today are much more than real. They are a generation of stories incarnate, gods and legends, fables and folklore. In these gray days of reality they find themselves unable to ignore their pasts, blessed or cursed with abilities and attributes impossible to explain in cold modernity. They are beginning to discover tangible relics of the past, items that still hold power even now. Through a journal page they are now discovering each other, and as the days pass it becomes more and more clear that stories, no matter how hard they try, will not be ignored.

10 years have passed since the end of the series. The world has once again sunk into depths of violence. An attack by waiters at the president's masquerade ball that was to commemorate the decade of peace since the war resulted in the president's resignation and a new threat to our heroes. The second masquerade, celebrating Treize and Dorothy's wedding, saw an assassination attempt on Treize, running for president. With the cast still reconnecting after a decade apart, can they come together in time to stop more violence?

One Mask For Another is a laid back forum RP. Due to recent personnel losses, we are looking for new players to refill key positions as well as to take on new characters. Click on Apply Here and reply as a guest in that thread to get started. If wanting to take over a character previously in use, we will give you the password via AIM or some other way; the Still Open topic will have background information the characters previously used. If wanting to take character with no account yet, we'll give you the go ahead to make it. You just have need to say hi first. AIM is the preferred method of communication. Original characters will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

New players will start June 1st at the inaugural ball, which will be a masquerade, of course. ^_~

"….Voldemort's powerful now. You don't know who his supporters are, you don't know who's working for him and who isn't; you know he can control people so that they do terrible things without being able stop themselves. You're scared for yourself, and your family, and your friends. Every week, news comes of more deaths, more disappearances, more torturing … The Ministry of Magic's in disarray, they don't know what to do, they're trying to keep everything hidden from the Muggles, but meanwhile, Muggles are dying too. Terror everywhere … panic … confusion …"

Across Europe the Wizarding Community lies in fear. Voldemort and his followers are on the rise, leaving behind a reign of terror in their wake. As his numbers increase, Wizards begins to grow more uneasy, increasingly choosing to fall prey to his Empire, out of fear, unwilling to stand up and fight.

In spite of the increasing danger, a small group of vigilante Wizards have begun a rebellion, daring to do what the Ministry fears to do; fight. The Order of the Phoenix is slowly growing into a force to be reckoned with, threatening not only Voldemort, but the Ministry itself.

Change is on the brink for the students of Hogwarts. No longer will they be safe behind the confines of the castle, unaware to the real dangers of the world. They will soon be forced to make their own loyalties known; a decision that will affect not only the rest of their lives, but the entire Wizarding World.

Amongst the darkness, these students are potentially the light needed to give the Order the man power to take on Voldemort’s forces. As both sides fight to gain support, one question lies: which side do you choose?

This is a Digimon Adventure (01 and 02) role playing community set on a present time line. After saving the world (twice) as mere children, the Chosen Children thought that they were invincible. Then they were thrust back into the real world and are forced to face High School, University, and the difficulties of ascending into adulthood - all while maintaining their presence in the Digital World to ensure its protection.

It started with Pixar. While Woody felt himself being swiftly replaced by a shiny, new Rocketman, the two dimensional cartoon world saw the beginning of what would be their end. Some cartoons had already slipped into a comfortable retirement, but most saw the death of their own genre as the shiny, three dimensional world took over. But, instead of being erased from pop culture history, the old world entered the new. Broke through it, in fact.

Roger Rabbit was the first to leave Toontown. He had always been known for having one foot in the door and one out, but better for being completely obsolete as soon as his movie ended. One morning he woke up in the real life body of Roger Baxter, an up and coming television star. The two Rogers were forced to make sense of each other, exist in the same body and help other cartoons that were jumping off the page into the streets of Los Angeles.

This is Erased. A game about your childhood and how it just can't seem to slip away.

PREMISE

You wake up to the smell of smoke.


In the year 2008, a virus swept North America. Ever vigilant for a pandemic, citizens boarded up their windows, stockpiled their canned goods, and turned their neighbors in to the CDC. Short wave radios fell off the shelves, evacuation routes were prepared. Gas masks and specialty filtration systems were distributed. Pills were available for those showing early symptoms. Pills that did not work. That were later replaced with cyanide as their active ingredient. For those who were brave enough to put their fingers near a loved one's mouth. The United States, Canada, Mexico, the virus swept down into South America and festered in the heat of the jungle. In some places it burned out. Superstition ruled and saved lives. But nothing stopped the virus.

You wake up to the crackle of dead airwaves.


Three months after the first diagnosed case of Currere Excessum was recorded, NATO approved Great Britain's use of nuclear force against the United States. It was assumed that all organic material would be reduced to ash under the impact. It was assumed that the Quarantine of the Americas would be temporary, at best. Any who survived the blast would be given the highest in humanitarian attention and medical care. The only American emissaries who knew of the plan lay incinerated in Washington. The Quarantine continued. The Americas lay abandoned. Empty.

After the events of March 29th, 2007 our Heroes are disheartened, spread across the U.S., and quickly losing their numbers. And to make matters worse, one of their own was working up a plan that would sacrifice his peers to better himself. As if that weren't enough, someone is out there with malicious intent toward people who are "special". Someone is hunting and rounding up anyone with abilities. No one knows who the hunter is or where the hunter comes from. And no one knows where their peers are going. Will opposing sides find allies in each other to end this menace, or will they do as they always have and serve only themselves and their own purposes? Only time will tell... and time is something they're running out of.

Long before Jaenelle Angelline was born, there was a great Queen in the Realm of Terreille. She was the last to stand against Hayll's influence, along with her Consort, the Red Jewelled Shalador Warlord, Jared. Upon her death, her daughter failed to keep the taint from spreading, and Dena Nehele fell…..

Hundreds of years later came Dreams made Flesh. And through the Realms, Witch's power wiped out all of the Corrupted Blood, Dorothea and Hekatah were destroyed and in Terreille there were very few Blood remaining, in comparison to what there once had been...

To the north, in the Tamanara Mountains, the territory once known as Dena Nehele has emerged from the purification with a percentage of its Blood intact. The taint of Hayll is gone, and they can begin to rebuild. Hidden away, high in the mountains, a group of rogue Blood hear of the liberation of Dena Nehele, and they know it is time to return.

For with them they have a descendent of Queen Lia and Jared her Consort, A Birthright Jewelled Green Queen who has come away from her Offering to the Darkness with the Gray. It is time for her to take her place in the greatest Queen’s Gamble of all. The creation of the Gray Court is no small matter for a young Queen. She must unite the rogue Blood, unite Eyrien, Hayllian, Shaladorian and Nehelian alike in her Court, and return the Old Ways to Dena Nehele. The stakes are high, and unless you gamble everything… you cannot win.

PROLOGUE

You wake up one morning with a headache, you wonder if you're hung-over but you didn't drink anything last night so that can't be it and after taking a painkiller and heading to work you forget all about it. A few days later you think you back to your childhood and there's a memory that doesn't fit, it doesn't make sense and you try not to think about it because it sets you and edge and makes you feel uncomfortable.

It doesn't stop.

Maybe weeks go by, or maybe it's months, and someone turns up on your doorstep. Maybe they look official, or they're wearing jeans and a T-Shirt, but they introduce themselves and tell you that they're from something called 'The Agency', they sit you down and if you're lucky they'll make you a cup of tea or pour you a drink before explaining it all to you.

The memories are real, but they're someone else's, someone you always thought of as fictional. You're what they call a reincarnate, someone who's been reincarnated from this fictional person, brought into this world with magic that no one yet understands.

They talk about a war that's being fought between two sides of reincarnates, the good and the bad. You're not told what side to pick or that you need to, but you know that a day will come when you and the person you were and are possibly becoming will need to choose.

The kingdom of Forsilvra is a thriving land. Most people live their days on their farms or in their mines, working day to day in order to survive. But for the elite class, those Lords who govern lands and provinces, life in Forsilvra is constant struggle of power. The battle for power and position is usually a subtle one - the ties of marriage, the treaties that bind families and lands, the barter and trade of wealth, property, and resources.

Fifty years ago, after a civil war involving the entire kingdom, a new King from a new line was crowned. But not everyone in Forsilvra is happy with the current ruler or the circumstances behind his family's ascension to the throne. Political unrest is brewing, as those of noble class struggle to push their own houses into power.

After World War II, the world was looking for a place to recover. Al Capone saw this retreat in a desert in the mid-30’s. Yes, Las Vegas was built on the Mafia’s dime. But a dime isn’t worth much these days.

The Russian Mafya wanted a slice of the pie. After a long, bloody war, a truce was reached, they accepted their uneasy peace for years. Then the Triad moved into town. The Cosa Nostra would have nothing to do with them. The Mafya was not so selective and looked to the future, making a business deal with these new partners.

It’s now 2009. A new brotherhood has set foot onto the desert. Their name are Yakuza. They are not willing to compromise or make deals, they’re playing for keeps. The thread that the tenuous piece has been kept by has frayed and no one will know what hit ‘em when it falls. Guess what, Vegas? It just snapped.

CROSS ACADEMY
Cross Academy, a distinguished boarding school, is attended by two groups of students: the Day Class and the Night Class. At twilight, when the students of the Day Class return to their dorm, they cross paths with the Night Class on their way to school. The Night Class is an elite group of noble students. But the Day Class does not know the Night Class' dark secret: the Night Class is full of vampires and it is up to the Disciplinary Committee to make sure that the Day Class is protected from this secret.

Cross Academy was created as part of a experiment to see if vampires could bear living with the humans they lived to hunt. The expansive campus accommodates high school and college students alike with two main buildings for classes, four dormitories, and a library on the far end of the campus.
