Beyond the Ring

Welcome back to Middle Earth. It is two years after the War, the ring has been destroyed, and now everyone is attempting to pick up the pieces of their lives and rebuild a new world based on peaceful co-existence. The Nine Walkers have gone their separate ways, some to their homelands, some to the world beyond this one, but all are still linked by the indestructible bonds of love and friendship.

The world of Middle Earth is finally at peace, and all hope that it stays that way for a long time to come. That’s where you come in. How did the War affect you and your kind? Have you found a way to peacefully co-exist with other races, or are you stuck steadfastedly with your kin?

How long will peace last? Is there another evil, just biding its time until it has a chance to strike? Or are we destined to live out the course of our lives without worry or strife? If another war does happen, which side will you be on?

Join EUPHORIAS on INSANEJOURNAL! We want people interested in just having some fun with these characters. We have a long list of names to choose from to create interesting, unique individuals living the Harry Potter universe. We're interested in writing fun, humorous, smutty, angsty, romantic and downright dramatic SLs in this game. We are not crack, but canon based. The game is set in the year 2003. Harry is 23 and all ages range around there both older and younger. This game so far has no plans on moving to INSANEJOURNAL. "The Rising." That's how it came to be known eventually, the day the dead began to rise from their graves and walk once more.

It began innocently enough. Just a handful of cases located randomly across the country, of the recently deceased coming back to life. At first it was blamed on human error, the doctors must have made a mistake, what other explanation could there be? But it wasn't a mistake and it soon became clear that despite the fact that they were walking around, the recently deceased were still just that... deceased.

Essentially harmless if somewhat disturbing to see, but with no real sentience and no other signs of life to speak of the walking dead (now known as "The Risen") were placed in quarantine and subjected to procedure after procedure from teams of doctors and scientists determined to find an explanation for the phenomena. No explanation was ever found and the number of walking dead slowly increased.

Less than one month after the first reported case, the disease mutated.

A careless lab technician approaching the end of his shift and thinking more about his plans for the evening than of safety was accidentally bitten while taking a saliva sample from one of the risen. Afraid of being quarantined himself he hid his injury from his superiors and went home. He should have known something was wrong when he started feeling dizzy but he told himself he was just overworked and that he just needed to relax. He thought he'd be fine by morning. He was wrong.

By morning he was dead. Walking dead but different from the others. Self aware, though only minimally, he was governed by a hunger that could only be sated by the taste of human flesh. He attacked everyone he saw, his girlfriend, his neighbours, the mail man, the bus driver, taking a bite from each of them before being fought off. He was apprehended of course and eventually subdued but not before managing to inflict bites on several of the arresting officers.

Within 24 hours everyone who had been bitten had also become walking dead, consumed with the same hunger for flesh, and in little more than a week, the whole town had been infected. With no one left to even try and contain the contagion, it spread quickly to the next town and then the next, spreading right across the country and then the globe like a wild fire and in just a few weeks the number of walking dead was equal to the number of living... and rising.

That was a year ago. All that remains of humanity now are the small and remote pockets of survivors that live cut off from the rest of the world in secured compounds, ever watchful of the walking dead that surround them on all sides and hoping desperately that the nightmare will eventually end.

This is the story of one such group of survivors.

A new year. It is January, 1999, seven months after the battle that ended the war. Most of the last Death Eaters have been rounded up, and now it's time to turn to a more difficult challenge - the social and economical consequences of decades of turmoil.

From the Muggleborns who spent months in Azkaban, the Order members and students who were subjected to the horrors of the battlefield, even the neutral purebloods who've lived terrified of being forcibly recruited to Voldemort's forces, everyone is left with a bit of baggage. The Ministry's funds were depleted throughout the later 90s, the money going towards defensive measures, but now it's needed to rebuild. Taxes have gone up, as have unemployment and homelessness. The divide between rich and poor is growing. Socially, there's a feeling of mistrust across class and blood-lines, a backlash against traditional values that were shared by the radical extremists that caused so much damage, demonstrated by a swing towards leftist politics.

Reviviscence is a game that values realism in roleplay. Rather than being just another social game, we aim to explore the consequences of the events in the canon JKR has given us. Things didn't become ideal overnight. In fact, things didn't become ideal at all.

The year is 2003. Buffy, with the help of a goddess, two champions and a couple dozen slayers, has just stopped The First Evil's plan to unleash hell on Earth. Nineteen days later, in Los Angeles, Angel, having just taken over Wolfram & Hart, receives a yellow envelope from which Spike, presumed dead after sacrificing himself to aid Buffy and the Scooby Gang, appears out of.

Buffy, who received word that Spike might be alive, enters the office to discover Spike not a minute after his return. Angel begins to wonder if Spike is simply a form of The First, his friends and employees are very unsure what is going on, and Scoobies and old foes alike are migrating to Los Angeles from all across the globe. Something evil is brewing, they can all feel it. Does it have anything to do with Spike's return? They are certain to find out.

As to who, exactly, is behind it all, only time will tell... It could be The First or maybe even the mysterious Senior Partners that have been nothing but a bother to Angel throughout his years in Los Angeles. Or maybe it's simply a tiny Texan out for revenge. Then again, who's to say all of the above aren't working together in some sinister plot to make their next apocalpyse attempt stick -- for good.

Oracle is a post-war Harry Potter RPG set in 2000.

In a world without a Dark Lord, the Ministry of Magic appears to be the greatest threat to the citizens it serves. Oracle takes place only a year-and-a-half after Death Eaters seized control of the Ministry, imprisoning muggleborns. In their eagerness to leave that inauspicious past behind them, the Ministry has begun testing a new interdepartmental communications system using computers, hoping to appear progressive and muggle-friendly. Several of their employees, even war heroes and Death Eaters, have been given computers as part of the experiment. Oracle follows these characters' lives as they struggle to transform the Wizarding World into one that was worth saving.

Oracle is a drama-free haven for talented writers.

Oracle originally began in February of 2007 and lasted until December of that year before we decided to move to a new server and start over as a canon-compliant game. You can find version 1.0 here if you're interested, but it's not necessary and version 2.0 is, of course, very different. Oracle provides you the unique opportunity to join a new game that has no back story and very few taken characters, while still giving you the stability of an established game. We put an emphasis on quality and have no tolerance for OOC drama or poorly conceived Mary Sues.
It's a new year and a new game, so come join in on the fun!

It’s the year 2015 and Voldermort has been defeated a long time ago. It took the Ministry a very long time to reassemble and get back on its feet but not it’s up and running. Harry Potter never did die and Hogwarts is still open for business.

The focus of the RP is manly school life at Hogwarts. As the previous students have moved on they’ve also married and had children. They attend here and go through the same drama as any other teenager in the world.
