The students who attended Hogwarts throughout the 1970s faced numerous challenges. They found themselves in a world on the brink of war. Upon entering the school, some were taking their first steps into a magical world that was completely foreign to them. Others had lived in it all their lives and were about to leave the safety of Hogwarts to see what the world had in store for them. How will these students react to the world that is constantly changing around them? Who will they become and what roles will they take up as the times shift? It is in their power to answer these questions. We know a little of what they will do outside of Hogwarts. Let's see how they got there.

This is a canon school-oriented Marauders-Era RPG that does recognize Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

It's January of 1972 and the Marauders are in their first year!

rome_rpg is a role playing game based (loosely) on HBO's Rome.

Set right after Caesar's return to Rome, the game will start with Caesar in Rome and Pompey still on his 'tactical retreat'. The main action of the game will involve not only the power struggle between the two men, but also the day to day lives (and drama) of those around them.

Players are encouraged to join as characters from the television series, historical figures of the time, or characters of their own creation.

Rebuild (ree-bild) - verb

They say that rebuilding is a process filled with hope, sweat, and joy. The hope of a better future, the sweat from your back, and the joy from the promise it brings. Nobody ever mentioned the pain. Nobody ever mentioned the suffering of the stress or the grief that builds every day you enjoy something a loved one can no longer do. That's when the Aftershock of the situation sets in.



On 2 May 1998, the Battle of Hogwarts was fought. Several lives were lost and many more were injured on both sides prior to Harry Potter casting the final death blow against Voldemort. Numerous Death Eaters were captured and sent to Azkaban to await trial, while others managed to escape.

The dust has yet to settle, and everyone is in the process of regrouping to begin what will be the long road to recovery. Several were brought to St. Mungo's to begin the process of healing, their families taking care of them. The ones who could have begun to start cleaning up and rebuilding what had been lost, while some have discussed starting the hunt for the fugitive Death Eaters.

There were many children from both sides of the War who were left orphaned or otherwise abandoned. The Aurors, in conjunction with St. Mungo's, have set up a temporary home for them, hoping to place them with loving families.

There are many questions. Where does the Ministry now stand? Will the remaining Death Eaters regroup and retaliate? Is the Order still strong enough to handle anything that may happen? Is St. Mungo's able to handle the number of casualties? What about those who want to see justice served against those who killed their loved ones, no matter the cost?

Right now, it is two weeks after the Battle. Hogwarts is currently in a state of disrepair, as are the lives of many who fought there. As everyone begins to pick up the pieces after the War, this is where the game starts. Anything could happen as the aftershock settles in.


We are looking for: Lucius, Molly, Arthur, Hermione, Ron, and Neville, along with any other students from the books in all four Houses, Order Members, Dumbledore's Army Members, Death Eaters, and minor characters as well. Many are free!


The game is compliant to Deathly Hallows with a few minor exceptions, and is AU after that. The epilogue will not be followed.

Basically any reasonable history you could want for your character is acceptable. AH was originally based on hogwart_life at LJ (but no knowledge of that comm is necessary at all since very little stays true to that game now). What if the Prophecy that made Harry Potter the 'Boy who lived' hadn't been given to the Dark Lord? What if a falsified Prophecy had been passed to him instead?

The year is 1995, When Harry, Ron and Hermione return to Hogwarts. A few changes have been made to the staff over the summer, the most noticeable being the new Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor; A Mr. Tom Marvolo Riddle. His new post is widely questioned by the wizarding world; The man has been convicted of murders throughout the seventies, why would Dumbledore hire him to teach young children? Dumbledore simply plays it off saying that he has applied "twice before". That he has not been able to be convicted of anything. Mr. Riddle has, after all, been studying abroad since the 1980's, and is very knowledgeable on his subject.
