Rules
1. All players must be 17 or older due to the nature of some of the posts and plots. There will be some NC-17 content, and we don't want to get in trouble.
2. Please, respect the other players and their characters. This should go without saying. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. The game is het, slash and femmeslash friendly. If you are not a fan of one of those genres, please use discretion in what posts you read. We are also pretty open minded about quite a few things as well. Again, if something posted is not your cup of tea, you do not have to read it. If it is important to the storyline, ask for a summary from one of the other players so you can know what is going on.
3. Since this game contains some AU elements, please do not quote 'this is how it is according to canon' to other players or the Mods. Everyone is aware of what the canon is, but this game is not going by canon storylines or relationships.
4. The game is set up in a linear fashion, and no future-dated posts are allowed without Mod permission. Backdated posts are allowed. All journals should be written in the first person, and threads and owls in the third person. Threads can be done in game, or as a session log that is posted when complete.
5. Please, no net speak. Use proper grammar and punctuation, and spell check your posts if necessary. The only (we repeat, only) time this can be ignored is if, while in the journal, your character cannot type correctly because s/he is drunk, got hurt (fingers/hand), or something along those lines.
6. Threads should be marked as follows:
Who: (What characters are in the thread)
Where: (where the thread takes place)
When: (the date and time that the thread is happening)
Rating: (G to NC-17, based on what happens in the thread. Any warnings should be posted here as well, so those who may be offended by certain activities (examples include incest, bdsm, fetishes etc.) can avoid the thread if necessary. Please make sure warnings are posted on any threads that may contain such things.)
7. Make sure all in game posts are tagged with the names of every character participating in the thread. Each pup will have their own tag, and there will also be an "owl" tag. When you send an owl, please use the owl tag along with tags for both your character and the character(s) receiving the owl. You can use tags for your pup's journal if you want (that you can create yourself), though it is not necessary.
8. You can NPC a canon family member who is not currently being played in the game, but please keep that to a minimum and only when necessary. This way, if the character is applied for in the future, they won't have to tailor how they play their pup to any pre-set standards.
9. The limit of characters that a mun can play is five. This may change once the game is established and if people can honestly handle it.
10. Godmodding (ad-libbing) another's character without their permission is not allowed. Metagaming (using OOC knowledge that your character does not know in an in game setting) is also forbidden. This is just common courtesy.
11. When you join the game, please make an introductory post in the OOC community. Also, if you take on another character, make an OOC post for that character as well.
12. Roleplaying over messenger is allowed, but should be considered out of game unless all muns involved are comfortable with making the situation an in game one.
13. Excessive drama will not be tolerated. If this happens, you will first get a warning from the Mods. If it persists, you will be asked to leave the game. Yes, sometimes there are issues, but we are all adults here and we all should be able to figure things out without resorting to that kind of behaviour. The reason for this rule is because we're all here to play and have fun, not to be stressed out over the game. If you have an issue that is in need of resolution, please contact the Mods.
14. Please post in some capacity (thread, owl and/or journal) as often as possible. Once every two weeks would be good, but if you can post more, please do. We know that life can get hectic (trust us on that!), so if you need more time, let the Mods know and we'll work with you. If you're going to be away for an extended period of time (and know about it before hand), let the Mods know and then come up with a plot to explain your character's absense. The purpose of this is to keep the game and its plots moving, and to not tie up any characters that are not being played that someone else may want. If your pup is just not 'speaking' to you for whatever reason for an extended period of time, contact the Mods so that we can again try and work with you. If we haven't heard from you for at least a month (even just dropping us an email or OOC post saying that you're still around but are busy), the mods will contact you. If we don't hear back from you within one month, your character(s) may be made available for others to play.
15. OCs are allowed under limited circumstances, and should be cleared with the Mods before applying. Mary Sue/Gary Stu pups are not allowed. Please try to use a canon character if at all possible. No OCs will be accepted from people who do not already have a pup in-game.
16. Most important: have fun! If you have any questions, feel free to nudge the Mods.
17. These rules are subject to change as we, and the game, see fit. The Mods are not seers and, therefore, can't know everything that will happen.
