The Third Floor is similar to the 2nd floor in layout but does not have the Grand Staircase. It contains a large suite of master rooms with the remainder of the rooms being guest rooms as well as rooms for servants.

On this floor is a sewing room and servants quarters as well as guest chambers with private baths and fireplaces. Many of the castle's rooms have balconies.

From the towers of the castle, London can be seen in the distance, the faltering lights of the muggle city stretched out for miles. The stars that hung overhead were faint but still present, glimmering against the backdrop of the shimmer of fading building lights. The paraphets were empty, shadows of the past still lingering in the aged surface of the walls, worn down by years of siege and strife long before any wizard present had been born.

NOTES: Mei was good enough to find all these pictures (we love you!). And this bathroom is here because she insisted on it. Just saying. As we could find no pictures of a Grand Bathroom, you get a castle one.

The bathrooms are the one facility that was never updated with the rest of the castle. Drafty and cold, they provide a measure of isolation but little in the way of comfort. Stone walls shield them effectively from the music, the only sound within the echo of one voice, then another.

The tables were decked in deep crimson and black, each one topped by holly sprigs for Yule. House elves dashed from table to table, carrying heavy trays as they placed crystal goblets at place settings, to the music of the four musicians in the corner. Guests began seating themselves at tables- no formal place cards had been set, in hopes that wizards and witches would mill as they pleased.

In the back of the room stretched a long bar, with human and goblin bartenders working side by side. Two of the men have a contest going, juggling bottles in between mixing drinks. The goblin is winning.

There are those who watch the scene from above.

Perched high above the ballroom is a labyrinth of balconies, each of which leads out towards a series of spacious rooms upstairs. This is where the secret business of diplomacy is transacted as politicians and diplomats move through the spaces, stopping to murmur closeted remarks and share acid glances. Their wives make biting remarks behind jeweled fans and glittering finery, their eyes revealing the truth behind every pointed smile.
