Valentine's Day was not Ariana's favourite day of the year by a long shot. It was filled with false promises and hushed lies. People claimed to love others but in a month or a week or even a day they'd be hurting them. Maybe not physically, but the hurts done to one's psyche and emotions left larger scars. They hurt more and did more damage. Empty gestures. There was an entire holiday centred upon empty gestures. People would go out of their way to be "romantic" only to ignore one another, at best, the rest of the year. In a way she was glad for her solitude, her loneliness because it was at least true. It was honest even if it sometimes ached.

The young blonde went to Grange-over-Sands just because it wasn't that far from home but it was somewhere to go that she didn't see every day. She just wanted to walk, maybe even to think. Yes, that'd be nice. She thought maybe even stepping back from life and thinking for a bit was even necessary. Why wasn't something she was really sure of at all, but she was certain it should or had to happen. There was a period of time earlier in the week she couldn't remember at all. She'd blacked out after injecting Steven and couldn't remember anything until he was in the coffin and she was laying the backed goods inside with him. It was strange, she'd never blacked out before in her life. People only really blacked out from drinking too much, didn't they? She didn't drink much and she hadn't been drinking at all that night. Strange.

Hands shoved in her pockets, Ariana kept her head down... )

Who: Hannah Abbott, Camilla Finch-Fletchley, and Justin
What: Kidnapping. She’s such a blonde little badass.
Where: Wiltshire and London
When: Late afternoon, 15 February
Rating: G
Status: Closed; Incomplete

On the list of hundreds of things she missed about Max, his car was definitely one of them. She loved his truck, even if it was a homicidal maniac as far as the ozone layer was concerned, she liked how easily it navigate through snow and hills, and how she felt so big in it. Her own, twenty year old, beat up, hideously grey Volkswagen got her to Wiltshire easily enough, and in one piece, but the bumps in the road seemed much more pronounced after months of stealing her boyfriend’s tank of a car.

She could practically smell history wafting from the school’s grounds when she got out of the car, that intimidating sort of ‘do you know who was here before you?’ atmosphere that she remembered from Hogwarts. In fact, there was so much about this school that reminded her of her old one, that Hannah was instantly nostalgic. Not so much the outside, because it wasn’t nearly as old or intimidating, but the portraits on the inside – even though they were still – and the group of girls who ran past her in the entrance hall only to be yelled five seconds after taking off by a strict looking professor reminded her of school.

There were signs directing her to the main office, for which Hannah was instantly grateful, and it only took her a few minutes to find her way. “Hi,” she told the woman at the front desk once she was off the phone. “Eh – I’m here to pick up a student? Camilla Finch-Fletchley – she’s a second year,” Hannah leaned onto the counter and snuck a peek at the computer, wondering how the systems worked. The woman glared at her, and she sank back. Stuffy, she thought. “Yeah – her mum said she’d call, that it would be alright to take her for the weekend?”

The woman sighed and typed something into the keyboard before looking back at Hannah and asking in the most clipped voice possible, “ID?”

Hannah nodded and shuffled through her purse for her wallet before finding it. The woman seemed more than a little bitchy, but she couldn’t really blame her. It was after five on a Friday, and Hannah would have wanted to get out of there just as badly if she was in her shoes. Work right before the weekend started sucked more than anything, it was like time slowed down to practically a stand still.

After a few minutes, a bunch of papers, and two phone calls, Hannah was told to sit and wait until Camilla was fetched. Were they both dogs? But she only smiled pleasantly and sat in the chair in the corner, wasting the time by playing tetris on her mobile. She was terrible at it.
