The Menagerie would be closing within the hour, but it was dreadfully slow. People didn't come in much when the sun wasn't out. Rather than sitting around staring at the walls she offered to take some of the more restless, furry guys out for a walk/play. Mungo, Jerry and Rumeplteaser, who were the wolfhound puppies, and Greta, a kneazle, all had leashing charms on them in case Ariana needed to reign them in, but for the most part she let them wander and roam as far as they liked so long as she could keep an eye on them. The puppies kept trying to tackle Greta, who kept trying to remind them she had very, very sharp claws. If she didn't live in her parents house at the moment Ariana probably would have adopted Greta, though admittedly sometimes the fluffy girl seemed about ready to maim Ariana on sight, but the rest of the time she was perfectly sweet. It was a bit odd really.

The puppies chased Greta and nearly collided with a pair of legs, causing Ariana to have to tug them back toward her and away from the innocent legs of passers-by. "No, you guys no running into people! Sit!" All three sat in unison to her great pleasure. She'd been working on training them for weeks. With a smile she gave them each a treat and told them they could play. They took off again, but she kept them closer to her this time while Greta just sniffed at people and rubbed up against corners of the buildings and doorways.

The Attic contains servants quarters, guest rooms, a reading room, a dark room, studio and a roof-parlor with a fireplace adjacent to a large observation deck. A flight of stairs leads to the Loft and then another leads to the Tower Room, or Lookout, where one would has a majestic view of the surrounding mountains.

On this floor is a sewing room and servants quarters as well as guest chambers with private baths and fireplaces. Many of the castle's rooms have balconies.

From the towers of the castle, London can be seen in the distance, the faltering lights of the muggle city stretched out for miles. The stars that hung overhead were faint but still present, glimmering against the backdrop of the shimmer of fading building lights. The paraphets were empty, shadows of the past still lingering in the aged surface of the walls, worn down by years of siege and strife long before any wizard present had been born.

The tables were decked in deep crimson and black, each one topped by holly sprigs for Yule. House elves dashed from table to table, carrying heavy trays as they placed crystal goblets at place settings, to the music of the four musicians in the corner. Guests began seating themselves at tables- no formal place cards had been set, in hopes that wizards and witches would mill as they pleased.

In the back of the room stretched a long bar, with human and goblin bartenders working side by side. Two of the men have a contest going, juggling bottles in between mixing drinks. The goblin is winning.

The music begins. The soft swell of a cello opens the song, answered by the strain of violins as couples begin to move to the floor. The soft sounds of rustling fabrics and slippers on marble are complimented by rushed whispers and hurried breaths as the dance starts. The walls are lined with those who do not dance, some sitting in chairs, others staring enviously at those who do.
