Wedding bells ringing
Who: Pandora Montgomery (soon to be Summerby), Ewan, Hyperion, Persephone, Philip, ZJ, Olivier, Addie, Draco, Lancelot, Quin, Nora, Alec, Luna, and pretty much any and all friends of theirs for the reception.
When: [FUTURE dated with permission] August 2nd
Where: Summerby estate in Scotland, and also St Mungos
What: Dora and Ewan’s wedding, reception, and the surprise at the end.
Warnings: Language, mentions of all things having babies, possibly, tbd
Notes: Please feel free to start subthreads in the marked places among yourselves! Anyone the couple knows is welcome for the reception, and anyone they’re related or very close to is at the wedding proper.

One would have thought, with her penchant for cleaning her home and for organizing her work, that Pandora Montgomery’s wedding would have been planned within a millimeter of its life and that she would have been one of the world’s biggest bridezillas. While it couldn’t quite be the farthest thing from the truth, it was rather out there in comparison to the truth.

The ceremony was family and closest friends only, along with one significant other. Which meant the ceremony itself would hold: Hyperion, who was officiating, and his girlfriend, ZJ; Persephone, who was standing up with her, and her boyfriend, Olivier; Philip, who was supposed to be walking her down the aisle, and his girlfriend, Addie; Nora, as her bestfriend, and also standing up with her, and her husband, Alec. Draco, as her cousin (if only by marriage), was of course invited, as were a few of her Montgomery cousins, such as Elroy, who would have something to do with her. And of course, Luna, who had been such a stalwart friend through all of this, and whoever she wanted as a date. That was all on her side. For Ewan there was his parents, of course, and all of his sisters and any significant others (and children) they had, as well as his bestmate, Lancelot, and his girlfriend, Quin, and anyone else he’d wanted to invite.

They’d chosen Ewan’s family’s home, the estate in Scotland. The weather had, thank the gods above and below, cooperated, and it promised to be a beautiful Scottish day, not too hot, and the heather was, indeed blooming. She’d chosen for it to be held at the top of a hill on the moor, underneath a gigantic tree that she and Ewan had climbed all the time in their youth. It held so many good memories for her, and the view from the top with the heather bobbing its heads was, to her mind, perfect.

Simple, and perfect, especially to a woman who had never expected to marry at all.

Afterwards, she’d planned a larger reception, for any of her friends who wished to come to celebrate with her. It was still held at the Summerby estate, with food and a beautiful, tasty cake made by Melinda from Sweet Nothings. All her friends were invited to it, her fellow Slytherins she’d kept in touch with from school, such as Terence and Blaise and Adrian, and of course Alicia, not only as Adrian’s wife but as one of the few people who put up with her myriad of healer related anxieties and who she genuinely liked.

Dora had a surprising amount of friends, if she stopped to actually think about it, which she rarely did. Not all had her full trust, but she was outwardly outgoing, her visible nature much more Hufflepuff than Slytherin. It was her inner nature that was private, her weaknesses, flaws, issues, hidden behind a very high wall that while not unbreachable, wasn’t easily accessed. So the reception should be a relaxed and lovely affair. Nothing was very fancy, but it was decorated and tasteful, elegant in an understated sort of way that Dora often favored.

So it was a simple ceremony and a simple party planned afterward.

Planned. Of course, plans rarely survived being implemented.

In the few minutes it had taken Zee to join her in the loo, Addi's breathing had become more staggered, her eyes burning with un-shed tears, and she'd crouched down for a bit, her hands still gripping the basin. Only once she thought she could actually breathe again did she stand upright once more, and just in time, too, as Zee opened the door just moments later. At Zee’s words, she let out a soft, choked laugh, shaking her head. “You and your ovaries,” she chided jokingly. She’d be surprised if Zee wasn’t the next of their little group to get pregnant.

Addi’s eyes were still closed, so she didn’t meet Zee’s gaze in the mirror, but at the mention of lemon drops, she finally opened them looked at her friend, flinching faintly. “No candy, Zee. Not right now.” Her stomach couldn’t handle sweets just then. She forced her hands to relax their grip on the sink and then shifted to lean her hip against it instead. “It’s just… hard being back here, that’s all,” she admitted on a whisper. “I… don’t want Phillip to know—I don’t want him to feel guilty!” Her eyes pleaded with her friend to please keep this between them.

That choked laugh was a good sign, she hoped. It meant that things weren’t so bleak just now. “It isn’t my fault, really. They’re holding my hostage. They give me no say in these matters.” She teased lightly, smiling despite herself. As much as she knew she had baby fever she had no idea what that would mean. She still wanted to become a successful musician and didn’t that mean touring? What would that mean for babies? Here she was building a band around Hyperion and Quin, when she knew that if touring did come into it… Well neither would be able to go. She shook her head, she was getting lost in ridiculous thoughts that didn’t matter just that moment. She wasn’t going to be having children anytime soon, not until she and Hyperion were married and that was still so much farther down the road.

Then Addi was turning down candy and she nodded her head, hands stilling their search for candy. As Addi admitted what was going on though, Zahara did pull her wand from her pocket so that she could cast a silencing charm around them. It was just in case any of the boys came by to get them or had followed after her when she had slipped away. She wouldn’t let them hear, just in case. “I won’t tell him.” There was a promise in her tone as she pushed herself away from the door and came over to her friend.

She stood behind the woman, one hand coming up to scratch gently at the woman’s back in a soothing manner more than anything. “Do you want to talk about it more?” She had been doing her best to not push the other woman much on this subject, she knew it was hard. It was why she didn’t know too much about all of it. She hadn’t been asking. She almost asked if going to see the babies would help but she doubted it would, so the question died before it even left her lips.

Addi couldn't understand that at all. While she knew that Gen was suffering from a similar bout of baby fever, her own maternal urges still seemed to be kept very firmly at bay. She was still wrapping her head around the thought that someone could actually want her in that real, permanent way despite her being a muggle--she was nowhere near ready to consider the possibility of having babies or evaluating whether or not she actually wanted any. Even if it was still a very loud fact in the back of her mind that Phillip definitely wanted kids someday.

When Zee pulled her wand out and cast the silencing charm on the lavatory, Addi blew out a breath in relief. "Thank you," she murmured, grateful for the consideration. It still grated on her a bit that she couldn't do that, but at least--if she did have kids--they would be able to. That thought came out of nowhere, and she was sure her face paled at it. For the love of god, she did not need to be thinking those sorts of things!

At the feel of Zee's nails on her back, Addi shifted a bit and slipped an arm around her friend, leaning her head on her shoulder. "No, I really don't," she answered, squeezing her eyes shut for a moment. That only brought the terrible images back to the front of her mind though, so she opened them again. "I'm sorry--I know it must be frustrating to not know much of anything that happened with it all, but I don't want you to know the details." She paused and blew out a breath. "I don't want you to have to deal with having those images in your head." She gave her a light squeeze then, hoping that Zee understood. She wished she could forget it all, so why would she tell someone else what had happened? She'd only told Phillip because, well, they were together, and she'd needed him to understand...

Zahara only acknowledged Addi’s thank you with a nod. It wasn’t needed, it wasn’t ever needed when Zahara performed a little bit of magic for her friend and especially now in this moment, it wasn’t needed. She knew that if either man in the waiting room knew why Addi had gone to the bathroom, they’d both feel guilty. Their hearts were large and it was one thing she absolutely adored about both men.

As Addi’s head fell to her shoulder, she turned her head to press a kiss to the other woman’s forehead. She was suddenly grateful she hadn’t worn her muggle lipstick to leave prints all over Hyperion’s skin. She had purposely worn her magical stuff that didn’t rub off so that she didn’t ruin any of the pictures for Pandora’s wedding. That was the last thing Dora had needed, her brother having red lip prints all over him and his shirt collar. She was thankful now though because she wasn’t leaving a print against Addi’s pale skin.

“Why are you apologizing?” Her face matched the tone to her words, it wasn’t needed and she didn’t understand why she even felt the need. “I know we’re best friends,” She started there, since she assumed that was why Addi was apologizing. “You don’t have to tell me everything, it isn’t in the rule book. There is no rule book, matter of fact. Whatever you feel you want to tell me, you tell me. I won’t fault you for needing to keep some things to yourself.” There were a few things she kept to herself after all. Things that typically pertained to her relationship with Hyperion, things that she was still figuring out for herself. Sure, she usually got around to telling Addi once she had worked it all out but she knew not everything was run by Addi. She knew that was nothing like what had happened with Roberto but it was as close as she had.

“I love you and if you decide a year from now you want to tell me? I’ll listen.” She took a breath then, “I’ll be honest though? I don’t want to know. I’d likely want to do something extremely illegal,” She already did just from seeing the marks on Addi afterwards, “but I will listen if you ever do want to share. You don’t have to share though for me to be here for you. I will still comfort you in any way you want, and I’ll likely always ask if you want to talk about it. It doesn’t hurt my feelings when you say no.” Her cheeks grew a slight bit pink then though, she was having that familiar feeling she had whenever the war was brought up. She lacked so much experience in this area, she had never had anything traumatic happen to her. She felt this feeling when she admitted to Hyperion that she hadn’t been there for the war, his response though had been perfect and put her at ease. She reminded herself of the words before she blurted out her own inexperience. She didn’t need to bring her weird paranoia into this, she needed to be there for Addi.

She didn't want to answer why she was apologizing--it was an automatic sort of thing, an acknowledgment that it might be frustrating for her friend to be in the dark on things. She blew out a breath instead and nodded as Zee kept talking. This really was something she wanted to keep to herself, at least for now. She didn't feel the need to speak in that moment, so she just gave her arm around Zee's waist a light squeeze.

"Love you too," she murmured. Only then Zee went on, and she flinched faintly. On one hand, she definitely didn't want Zee to be tempted to do anything extremely illegal, but on the other hand, she knew there was nothing Zee could do because it had already been done. "All right. Thank you, Zee," she said simply. "I'll be okay, I promise." Especially since she knew Roberto would never be able to hurt her again and that the man she was currently with, the man she was rapidly falling in love with would never hurt her.

"Is my makeup messed up?" she asked needlessly, turning her face toward Zee. Her eyes were definitely a bit red, though she'd succeeded at keeping the tears from falling.

Zahara never felt like she handled any of these things correctly, she was almost certain Addi may have been a bit better off if Z had stayed in her seat. She took the other woman at her word though, she’d be okay. Hyperion had told her as such as well, and hadn’t he known Addi far longer than Zahara had? He had known her through Gen and Coop for years, she trusted him to know.

When Addi asked about her make-up, Zahara had been about to lift a hand to her cheek when she stopped herself. Her make-up was fine, you could tell that she had been crying but the make-up itself wasn’t smudged. “You need to wear more magical make-up. Have you ever tried it?” It seemed a silly question, Addi was very immersed in the magical world so she assumed the other woman had. Maybe that was why her make-up didn’t look a mess.

She took a step back then, “You should maybe wait a few minutes though, your eyes are giving you away. I can head back first and you can follow in a few moments, they won’t notice.” At least she hoped they wouldn’t, she was certain though that they all assumed she had slipped off to oogle babies again so she was likely safe from any questions.

Addi let out a soft chuckle at Zee's question, waving a hand. "Of course I have!" She used it almost exclusively, at least the sort that she could use, that you didn't have to use a wand to apply, and she loved all the extra benefits magical makeup had. It was way better than its muggle counterpart.

She nodded at Zee's addendum, thinking she was probably right. The last thing she wanted to do was upset Phillip by cluing him in to the fact that she'd gotten so emotional by being here--even if he would probably be able to tell anyway. She just didn't want to make it a big deal tonight. "All right, then," she murmured. She reached out even though Zee had stepped back, grabbing her hand and squeezing it lightly. "Thank you, Zee." She really was an amazing friend, and Addi worried she didn't tell or show her enough.

Of course Addi had tried magical make-up before. Zahara just laughed softly, “Sorry, silly question.” She was fairly certain that Addi knew more about different charmed items and things of that nature than she likely did.

Zahra smiled at the squeeze, “Of course. Anytime.” She squeezed her hand back before she did slip from the room then after she took down the charm and then unlocked the door. There was no need to keep the restroom silent anymore, Addi was feeling better and she didn’t see either of the boys standing outside of the door. That was a good sign, they hadn’t been gone too long.

She headed back towards the waiting room then for her spot next to Hyperion.
