I absolutely love holidays out of the country. Seeing foreign sights and sounds and the colors of the culture. This past month spent in Greece has been invigorating and cleansing and is exactly what I needed. Let go and let in, that's what does it. I've been reading tea leaves recently and things are looking good for the foreseeable future. I'm so excited!

I'll be having a homecoming bash to celebrate my friends and family and see you all again after this time away.

I wanted to let everyone know that I've got a lot of things coming up with work and my duties at home, so I won't be around as often as I might otherwise have been. This includes the journal network and in person. I will be inheriting greater responsibilities from my father with the estate and the business and these things will take more time out of my daily schedule from here on out.

Hey, so this is awkward but I couldn't think of a better way to let everyone know all at once and it feels weird not telling people so... Megan and I are together again.

Not looking for attention, just didn't want anyone to think we were keeping it from them, so everyone gets to find out at once.

Megan's cancer has relapsed and she will begin her treatments right away. As you can imagine she is scared and disheartened by this. Unfortunately, she has always believed the risk for relapse was too great to pursue the things in her life that make her happy and this happening can only have helped solidify that for her. She is weak now but needs her friends. Be gentle with her but don't let her think you are, we all know how much she'd hate that.

I wish we could take this away from her.

I wanted to post a reminder on here about the children's books readings at the Diagon library. They'll be picking up again this Thursday! I'd love to see all of our regulars as well as anyone else who'd like to bring their children! I promise I won't tease you if you come on your own!

Wayne came into the library today.

I was going to ask him if he was alright since he seemed a bit down, but when I went to find him he was pulling books about mental illness, specifically titles on how to deal with depression in the family. I can only guess it's about his dad and I didn't feel like it would be right to butt my head in. The last time I tried to be of help I think I made him nervous, what with my Mum in Mungo's and everything. Azkaban isn't kind to anyone. Thought I'd give you the heads up.

She's never going to be who she was again. It's right mad that it's taken me this long to realize it.

Mum's never coming back.

She'll never be home for Christmas.
She'll never get to visit me at work.
She'll never see me get married.
She'll never truly know my children.

I could go on. Torture myself with a never ending list. It's not as though I'll sleep through the night.

I wonder why that is? Why can't I sleep now? After everything we've been through... All of that fear from the war and the initial finding out what had happened to her... It's like it's all catching up to me. I've never felt like I've had a shadow hanging over me so much in my life. There's this weight that I can't shake.

I'm sure I've gotten off easy compared to most. Still, she deserved to live out a happy life.

I'm taking Megan to Mungo's. She believes something to be wrong and for her to admit that means it's been going on for too long. I don't know that flooding her with people is the best thing right now so let's hold off on visits until we know more. I'll keep you all updated.

I've only ever really worked in various dingy pubs and dives, so this new gig at a more upscale spot is a nice change of pace. At the very least no one has thrown a chair yet, so that is a bit nice. Still not exactly sure what a 'mixologist' is that our manager keeps going on about but I was good enough at potions, mixing a few pours here and there can't be all that difficult, yeah?

When it's dark outside when ya go into the studio for a writing session and when ya get out it's dark again.
