Malfoy Manor - Tag to Draco - 10 Year Anniversary Thread!
Who: Parvati, Draco, Rodolphus, ??
When: Two time Frames (The big breakup and current day)
Where: Malfoy Manor in two ways
Music: I of the Storm by of Monsters and Men

Lucius might've been five years gone, but Malfoy Manor still held his spirit in it's tone. The house remained cold and daunting, big rooms that seemed dim even when the windows were wide and bright. As such, though Draco himself was not much warmer, Parvati Patil found it unbearable to stay in alone without him.

Therefore, after waiting in the reception room for fifteen minutes and seeing no sign of blonde hair and gray eyes, she got up and wandered into the foyer. Noise was coming from furthur into the Manor, and she followed it, only to find Draco shuffling through books in what used to be his Father's study but now seemed to be...well, his?

"Draco?" She began, "You've taken this for your own?" She wasn't sure she liked the changes that had come onto her boyfriend recently. He seemed colder, more distant. Always dissatisfied no matter how hard she tried to make him happy. But were they really changes? Or had she just been blinded by the force of her love?

"I've been waiting for a bit, we had a date tonight, remember?"

~*~*~*~*~

Giggling, a glamour struck over her to make the curtain she was hiding behind seem smooth and inconspicious, Parvati Malfoy stood waiting for her husband to come into his study for his usual after-work drink.

She had just heard him arrive home, and caught up in their recent prank eachother phase, she was quite ready to scare him as he walked by. The elves were in on it, of course, they were currently telling the master of the house that his wife was out for the next hour.

Draco tensed at the sound of Parvati's voice. It used to relax him. Other things used to relax him too. He didn't bother to wonder why these things had stopped working.

"I think I've taken this whole house," he replied, at least having the decency not to sound too sarcastic. Just tired. Perhaps sarcastic would have been better. "I'm trying to find some Ministry related documents."

At the mention of their date night, a pang of guilt flashed across his eyes.

"I'm sorry," he said, straightening up and leveling his eyes to her.

-----

It had a been a long day at work. Draco had endured several tense arguments with various business partners, hadn't had time for lunch and had one of his coordinators submit her two week's notice.

Dutifully, one of the house elves offered him a tray set with a chilled glass, orange and other fixings for his drink. His face was dark and grave, just like it had been many years ago in that study.

She wasn't sure what about it didn't sit right with her. In truth it was watching Draco become increasingly colder, increasingly like his father and feeling that whatever little she had been able to hold in her hands was slipping away quickly. The faster he seemed to take the place of Lucius, the less room he seemed to have for Parvati. Instead, she played it off, "I just mean the study - It's so...adult of you to have one. You're growing up, Dragon."

Parvati slipped her arms around his waist. "It's okay," she forgave easily, "you can make it up by spending time with me now?"

------------

She was going to get him, so, SO good! Hearing Draco walk in and the elf setting the tray down on a small table beside his desk - Parvati flung open the curtain and jumped out at her husband, arms outstretched into small claws. "BOO!!!" She shrieked victoriously, unaware of his exhausting day.
