RP Thread - Seth and Tracey
Who: Seth Moon and Tracey Davis
When: Evening, Sept 23
Where: La Luna
What: Old flames meet up

Tracey was late, as usual. She didn't usually mean to be late, but time just had a way of getting away from her. There was always something more to do - a different dress to try on in case it worked better for the evening than the one she'd originally picked, or a few chipped nail colours to repair, or a scalp massage that was absolutely necessary before she went out. Sometimes she did mean to be late, just to make sure that whoever was waiting for her was well and ready to appreciate her presence by the time she arrived. This was one such instance. And when she finally arrived at the popular club, she made sure that everyone noticed.

As usual, Tracey was late but it was so commonplace that Seth just got used to expecting the woman to be late. In the meantime, he entertained himself by making two waitresses blush deep red and ordering the most expensive wine the house carried, despite the fact that he did not even like wine all that much. What he wanted to do tonight was to forget all the problems that will face him in the future, because it was official, he and his wife were splitting. It was only a matter of time before they were in court with their lawyers (Seth made a mental note to contact Nott) and the media got a wind of this. He hadn't told anybody except for Daphne, and he wasn't going to mention it tonight.

Smiling charmingly at the waitress as she came around to refill his wine glass, Seth saw Tracey heading his way and told the waitress to bring another glass.

Spotting Seth at the bar, Tracey smiled slowly and sashayed up to him. He looked good, as he always did; she'd always thought that he was the only one in their house that was as pretty as she was, and time hadn't changed that. If anything, the aura of fame only enhanced his appeal - which didn't go unnoticed by a great many women sitting around him and trying not to be too overt with their attempts to get his attention. It was quite amusing.

"Oh Merlin, it's Seth Moon!" Tracey squealed, in perfect imitation of his many fangirls. "Seth, will you sign my tits?"

"That would be funnier," Seth began as a well-trained waiter- as they all are here at La Luna- pulled out a seat for her, "If it did not happen yesterday." In fact, during the years when Seth was rising toward stardom, so many women had came forward (and a few men) with promiscuous offerings that it no longer fazes Seth when one of them wants to show him her tattoo of his face on her crotch. You can't make this shit up. On good days, these acts were flattering, even a little amusing, and Seth might take them up on it. On the others, they were just plain disturbing.

Running a gaze down Tracey's appearance, and not bothering to hide the fact that he was checking her out, Seth clicked his tongue in a sound of approval. "You're looking good, meeting someone to your standards tonight?" He smiled.

"It's funnier because it happened yesterday," Tracey countered, as she took her seat in such a way to display her figure to maximum advantaged. Hey, if he was going to check her out, she was certainly going to give him something to look at.

At his question, she grinned, then pretended to look around with interest. "As a matter of fact, I am. Have you see him?"

"I don't think such a person exists," Seth replied, looking up when the waiter came around with a new wine glass for Tracey, then filled it up with two hundred galleon French champagne. Restaurant managers, night club owners, usually liked Seth because he was generous about spending. "How have you been, love? How was the world?" Seth made a ridiculous looking spirit finger imitation at the latter question.

Tracey didn't bother to check on the quality of the champagne before taking a sip of it; she simply assumed - and rightly so - that Seth was going to treat her to the best in the house. "Well, Mummy just died, and Charlotte's still a bint," she said with false cheer. "So things are going absolutely swimmingly. How're you?"

"Ah, Charlotte, that's one hot mess," Seth mused to himself as he took a sip from his glass before setting it back down on to the table with a clink. Truth was that Seth was no champagne expert, no wine connoisseur, he was the sort of guy who liked his drinks mixed, hard, and have strange, often derogatory, names. "Sorry about your mum, though," he honestly liked Madame Davies (even though he thought she was a scary bitch at times), "and doubly sorry about what your sister did at the funeral." Seth had not been in the country when the funeral took place, but Charlotte's behaviour was all over the pureblood radar for days after.

Shrugging, "Heavily medicated."

"It was horrible," Tracey said with a small sniff, despite the fact that her own drunken behaviour had caused even more disapproval among the pureblood set. As far as she was concerned, she was totally justified in it, and it was Charlotte who was in the wrong. As usual. "She invited all these people who didn't care about Mummy at best and thought she should be in Azkaban at worst."

She took a moment to pout at the memory, but then his reply got her attention. "Really?" she asked with cautious interest. "Anything good you'd recommend?"

Seth raised a fine brow at Tracey as he flipped through the pages of the menu without much interest, wondering distantly if he wanted fish or chicken. Dinner time was a concept that Seth never truly understood, as with all other designated times of consumption, as he thought that food intake should be random- clinically proven to keep your metabolism on its toes. Metaphorically speaking, of course.

"All prescription stuff, the healer I have has me on daily doses and stuff," he said dryly, turning his focus back onto the menu; he always got the same thing everytime he came here, it's about high time he tried something new. "You ever did their duck?"

"Oh." Tracey pouted, disappointed that she wasn't getting a new pipeline into the good stuff. It wasn't that she was particularly jonesing for it, but it was always good to know who to go to if she ever did. "I don't remember; it's been so long since I've been here. Try it; at the worst it'll be awful and you'll send it back for something else." She was going through the menu in search of the healthiest option. Tracey had a deep fear of getting fat; after all, if she were fat, then she wouldn't be pretty anymore, and if she weren't pretty anymore, then who would ever want her?

Seth closed his menu with a dull thump, and picked up his glass again, but did not take a drink. The weight on his hand just felt familiar. "Are you done yet?" He asked, waiting for Tracey to make up her mind so he can wave the waiter over. Seth wanted to eat, although La Luna was not a good place to get full. He could always go home and make himself some pork-chops or something artery clogging. "You are always so slow at these things, you're not counting calories, are you?"

"By the way, what is this I hear about you boning a half-blood?" Seth felt a tug at the corner of his lips; only he could find this amusing, "Switching teams, are you?"

"Not all of us are as lucky as you to eat whatever you want and not get fat," Tracey said with a small sniff. She set her menu down and settled back in her chair, bringing her wine with her. At his question, she rolled her eyes. "Oh, please. Why is everyone so fixated on that? You'd think they don't have any sex lives of their own. There's nothing wrong with shagging a halfblood; it's not like I'm about to marry him. If I just stayed with purebloods, I'd get bored so quickly. There are so few of us left."

"I felt obliged to ask because everybody else did, right?" Seth did not care who Tracey was fucking with; his track record was not something to beam at anyway. Although, he never did an halfblood male- perhaps he should add that to his list of things to do. Raising a hand to wave the waitress over so he can order and eat his fill, Seth turned an evil grin toward Tracey, "Well, what did you guys do? Go on dates? Or went straight to the missionary?"

"Since when did you do anything just because everyone else was doing it?" Tracey asked, raising an eyebrow. "But if you really want to know, missionary doesn't exactly fit all to often into it-" a sly smirk here "-and I'm certainly not letting him take me out on dates. It's not as if I really want to be seen with him."

"Since when I say so," Seth shrugged before turning to tell the waiter that he wanted his meat medium rare, hold the garlic and extra spoon of hot sauce on top. Only a true newcomer would go near garlic when having dinner with another person.

"Man, you are a bitch," he laughed as he picked up his glass of champagne, "C'mon, you guys must have done something other than fuck. I'm curious and bored, and this is the only entertaining subject I could think of right now, so spill."

Tracey, for her part, looked momentarily envious at Seth's order before asking for a salad for herself. Once the waiter was gone, she settled back in her seat with her own champagne glass.

"You love it," she said cheerfully, unrepentantly. "You think I'm cute when I'm a bitch. Honestly, we don't do a whole lot other than fuck. As I said, I'm not looking to date him. But sometimes he cooks for me and once he took me to this horrible Muggle carnival - don't give me that look, it was a dare - and I hexed a vendor."

Seth shrugged. Frankly, he had known Tracey as who she was for so long that her being nice would probably freak him in the fuck out. Like a certain Draco Malfoy being bubbly and peppy- he can't even picture it without getting a shiver down his spine (and not in a good way either). "You're talking to the wrong person about perception of bitchiness," he muttered, and before he could sidestep it, "I married one, yeah?" Merlin, and he thought he could avoid this for one night- somehow, his wife can give him grief when she was halfway across the country. It's uncanny.

"A muggle what?" Seth blinked, "Carn... seriously, I don't even know what that is. Sounds like a group of flesh-eating things. But hey, it must have been fun if you hexed somebody, especially if it was a muggle who didn't know what just fucked him up." Although Seth thought that it would be, yes, kind of cruel. "Girl, he sounds like he could be trouble for you," Seth shrugged again.

"Oh, don't you start," Tracey said crossly. Even though Seth wasn't lecturing her like everyone else in her life, she still didn't like hearing doubts raised about her choices. "He's utterly harmless, and I can take care of myself. How could he be trouble for me? And don't say the carnival - which, by the way, seems to be a very garish version of a fair. Let's talk about your love life - or maybe lack of one. How's Mrs. Moon doing, then?" She still had no idea how Seth had managed to marry the Black Widow; she had even less of an idea how he had managed to stay alive this long. Whatever the case, there had to be a good story behind it.
